What a mess this team is. A bunch of under performing vets with nmc's, a few prospects that have regressed when the hope was that they would take a big step forward, and a complete blackhole in net.
We're stuck with Vanek, Backstrom, and possibly Koivu. Untouchables are Parise, Suter, Zucker, Scandella and Brodin, imo. Pominville has lost his shot and has become so soft along the boards that it isn't even funny. He's still putting up decent numbers thanks to the assists, so he might be somewhat attractive to someone but I would rather hold onto him. Haula, Brodziak, Carter, Cooke, Fontaine will bring back little to nothing. So the way I see it, Granlund, Niederreiter, Spurgeon and Coyle are Fletcher's best trade chips.
I just don't see who is willing to give up the #1C the Wild are looking for. Boston and the Islanders are pretty well stacked at that position, but Fletch is going to have to overpay beyond belief to get a Nelson or Soderberg in return... and are those guys really #1's?
What a mess
