Not crazy about them, but we will see. I'd much rather have Lecavalier or Bellemare moved up the 2nd line center spot, and Schenn left at LW.
- MJL

For whatever reason the motivation to keep the fourth line together comes before anything else. I can live with Schenn playing center with Laughton out but it makes more sense to give Bellemare or Lecavalier the opportunity to move up, while keeping Schenn going as normal through his usual routine. I get the feeling Rinaldo will only spot on the third line but your asking for trouble early matching him with the other team's best.

I personally would've moved Bellemare or Lecavalier up if it was my choice, and left Schenn at LW. I'm not going to criticize the coach just because he didn't do what I think he should do.

Corey Pronman on ESPN ranked the top 50 prospects

35. Sanheim
46. Hagg

No one else for the Flyers

Nylander was first in case you're wondering. Morin not listed in his top 50.

Here's the link. It's an insider article, so you can't read unless you're big time like me.

If Morin wasn't in the top 50, Morrissey must have been nowhere to be found right? RIGHTTTTT!?

He actually answered some questions too. Here's his response to Morin and Ghost being left out

Corey Pronman-ESPN
I liked Gost to start the year but the injury kept me from doing a prolonged evaluation at the pro level. If he kept playing that well, he could have been in consideration. I do like Morin, but in this range--top 50---I'm not projecting enough offense from him to get into that area, maybe he's the next range.

Also stated that Stolarz would be in his 15-20 range for goalie prospects.

I have to and the reason is this. First, I agree with your mind set of moving up one of Lecavalier or Bellemare completely. That's exactly what I would do. I don't have a whole lot of faith in Berube for a number of different reasons. The first is, after holding Lecavalier out of the line up for as long as he did, it was widely reported and confirmed by Berube that Vinny was working hard to earn his way back into the line up. Now within Vinny's return, he was placed on the fourth line. Fair enough. Now as well as the fourth line has been in terms of creating offense, he can't be afraid to split up the trio. Bellemare is gonna see PK time without his line mates. Vinny will see time on the PP without those line mates as well. Vinny to me even looks hungry for a larger role at times. I'm sure this was the expectation when he returned to the line up, as I'm sure he wasn't happy being on the fourth line before becoming scratched.

The other reason why I criticize our Coach is the handling of the line up the Devils game where both Giroux and Laughton sat out. It was like he was pulling names out of a hat. A lot of random combinations (Although I'm aware that it was less then 24 hours of preparation). Like I said originally, chances are Rinaldo will only spot with Couturier and Read, which can only mean different players will probably spot in Rinaldo's place. I see making things up as the game goes on as a disadvantage.

For me, it only makes sense at the very least to have 3 solid lines and have the fourth line players ready in key situations such as special teams and allowing the other 3 lines rest if much of the game is spent 5 on 5.

Well luckily for us Pronman is a clueless pissant, while Holmgren is a President of an NHL Organization.

Odds Morrissey becomes a better NHL player than Morin is probably about 2.346%

Me too.

Schenn-Bellemare-Simmonds looked good earlier this season.

Pronman is clueless. He has Hagg ranked over Morin.

Button is a much better scout.

That could be the only reason they are in top 9. There is simply no other explanation

They're different players. Morrissey is mainly an offensive defenseman. If he's unable to produce offensively, he won't be very useful. I would say Morin has a higher floor but certainly a lower ceiling.

I think the rankings were skewed a bit based on injury and how close a player is to the NHL. He has a guy like Derrick Pouliot ranked 8th, which is ahead of Nurse and several others. I like Pouliot, but 8th is pretty high.

Morrissey has displayed a much better all around game this season, he's worked hard on his weak spots. Still probably not going to be a great defensive guy, but he could be a good one

If you gave me the choice of Morin or Morrissey, I would take Morrissey simply because his skill set is harder to come across. I just wouldn't be surprised if Morin became the steadier player

That's fair. Morrissey still has a ways to go. It can be hard for offensive guys to ever become good defenders, and Morrissey isn't big.
