yeah when I saw it in real-time it looked a looked borderline dirty but when I paused the video, it was fairly clear that he didn't quite leave the ice or meet Laughton's head with his shoulder.

If the primary point of contact was the head, Laughton's head wouldn't be behind Niskanen's back.

Nope. The Flyers will enter the last day of the season 1 point behind both Edmonton and Carolina. Trailing 1-0 in the 3rd, Lecavalier will score with 30 seconds left to send the game to OT. Umberger will score in the 12th round of the shootout, giving the Flyers a 1-0 shootout win and winning the game 2-1 and giving them a 3rd place finish. New Jersey will win the lottery and the Flyers will pick 4th.

I get that everyone wants to appear impartial for some reason, but the hit on Laughton was clearly not a "clean" hit. Niskanen jumped into Laughton, while aiming high, and left the ice while making the hit.

If Rinaldo did this, everyone would be talking about how long his suspension should be.

- hobo

I actually thought it was a clean hit......got him in the shoulder. I just hate that the flyers have ZERO physicality. And I am not talking about fighting and no I don't want a "goon" in the lineup

Really FRANKING annoying

As an FYI. We have come to the point where we need to remind people to turn off their AdBlock software on the site. Some of you may even have it. Via a pop up we are asking people to whitelist Hockeybuzz if they want to continue to read the content.

Simply put, the ad revenue goes to the writers and to keep the lights on. The site has improved our ad serving so that no auto-blast sound should be occurring

Get your logic and cause-effect out of here. Niskanen should get 800 games.

Because of Canucks inept scoring the Sedins were playing two different lines yesterday at practice

Burrows Henrik Vrbata
Daniel Bonino Kassian

Our team has been struggling of late

Physics should be suspended 4 games. Which would make for a very interesting 4 games.

What is up with kassian. I like him and think he could be like Beleksy but he doesn't seem to be a fovorite of your coach. I would love him on the Flyers.

1. I have no problem with ads. Ek's gotta eat, yo.

2. I have no ad blockers of any kind on my computer. I have trained my brain to block ads from my sight so I don't need software intervention.

3. No idea what whitelisting means. I'm a finance nerd, not a tech nerd.

4. The ad I specifically mentioned isn't a simple pop-up, it completely redirects my browser away from HB to that page. Hopefully that isn't the intention and someone just missed a line or two of code that can easily and quickly be fixed.

..."and for the fourth time this period, Giroux fanned on a shot as the puck materialized into a hippopatomous and his stick vanished into an alternate dimension. You gotta think, it's only a matter of time until they start going in if he keeps up the effort..."

Yeah. It is a tough season.

Just looking for thoughts but with the Coyotes looking to sell would it be a good idea to try and poach Bodekker from there. I think he is a bit underrated. Could be solid second line winger.

This team is just bad in every way. Hextall's lack of, well doing anything really, is going to start making me miss Holmgren. His only trade was bad, and his inactivity isn't helping anyone.

I love Doc and his passion/knowledge of the game, but those two clowns on the show with him are just awful. They had a new love affair with Holtby last night, making him sound like the next coming of Ken Dryden, though he played well, the Flyers made it easy on him by not driving the net and getting in front of him. The Scott Stevens comments also made me want to puke. When are they going to admit that most of Stevens open ice head shots ended quite a few careers and he would be suspended constantly under the current rules?

Aside from OEL, he'd be the hardest (current roster) player to pry out of there. They have strength on the back end but are lacking skill up front, and he's their best bet to provide it.
