Why blame Kessel for the Leafs being completely unable to win games unless he gets at least a point?

This time I think there will be changes. So this is a good thing. - walshyleafsfan
Well, you would hope so. However, I have been very disappointed with the 'changes' in the past... |

We are not winning because our best players are not our best players... you can't win if they don't show up every game... Kessel has disappeared... |

every player not named crosby goes through stretches like this, it's just usually their teams aren't garbage to the point where they lose every single game when it happens so nobody cares |

I have faith this time (don't know why ).
They have an interim coach. Who has an interim coach for half a season, when in theory, they are right in the middle of a playoff race?
Nope, Shanny knows the deficiencies. He'll ride this year out and we will be sellers. Then him and Babcock will get to work. Day 1 BS and MB decide what to do from the draft onwards. Build this thing properly.
And Nonis is proper done. |

Do you really have faith in shanny? I don't... what were his credentials to even get this job in the first place? |

Not the point. The point is to break this core up. Leave no doubt tgat they are not good enough. Keep losing. The pick is icing on the cake |

If the Leafs were to continue at this pace (5 points in last 14 games) they'd finish with 60 points.
Ouch! |

I do. He's been around hockey a long long time. He's worked for the NHL. He's known for a while what It takes to build a winner. He has contacts in the game. You think he just sat there waiting for his phone to ring so he could make 3 minutes videos? |

credibility to what? that he doesn't know how to dish out consistent suspensions? He has no experience in doing the job he's doing playing the game isn't the same as running a team... His connections are all working for other teams... |

Even better. Keep up last 3 (soon to be 4) games pace and we'll end up with 47 points. |

I don't think either are likely to happen but 60 is still more likely than 47 lol. 60 points would probably put them in 28th. |

I know many people who have switched fields of employment, coming in with no idea and have excelled at their job. Sports is no different.
However, I think Shanny knows what he is doing.
I think he's been very clever keeping quiet, overlooking everything while buying some time with Nonis and Carlyle as lame ducks. Shanny's reign will truly start this summer. |

I'll take it. Maybe the league can do hockey a favour and not let Edmonton pick top 2? |

we shall see.. I don't think he stand a chance... Even if he does do a good job, its cup or bust, and two things need to happen for the leafs to win one imo
1. Salary Cap needs to raise to the point were bottom teams can't financially compete with top teams.
2. Leafs need to tank and get a Bonafide super star.. |
