There was no head check rule at the time of that hit - Bieksa#3
Really, never knew head shots were legal, except when being punched in a fight. |

I think most of us have been asking for this for 10 years now...
I would welcome it - Hockey_Reverend
Didn't they do it 6 yrs ago? |

His feet do not leave the ice until after contact. Thus by the rule is clean. I'm not saying its right, but it is text book to the wording of the rule at that time - Bieksa#3
My issue is that its interference, no puck anywhere... |

Believe it or not shoulder to head was completely legel. Hell if not Scott Stevens would have been thrown out of the league |

Not that I am aware of...
Unless you consider signing Colton Orr And Mike Komisarek a rebuild... |

At this point I'd almost rather see Orr up right now, Leafs are totally dominated physically, and they can give them the lead in hit stats all they want, when you watch the games it's obvious the Leafs have no gumption at all... |

A lot of media chat about the need for Shanny to tear it down and rebuild the Leafs...thoughts? Would it fly with the fan-base? - LeftCoaster
The Leafs have made the playoffs once since 2004... The building is still full every night, ratings on TV still doing well.
You tell me.
We wanted a teardown when Sundin Left. That was the sign of the end. They've never done it yet. |

I always love this argument.
The Leafs have played 3 home playoff games in...what is it now, 10 years?
We have the most expensive tickets in the league - and that isn't changing any time soon.
There's a 100 year wait list for season tickets.
TV ratings continue to climb upward.
LeafsSports is jammed packed after every pathetic Leafs 8-2 loss, as people pull any crap they can get off the shelves with a Leafs logo on it and throw cash and plastic at the cashiers.
But we constantly wonder if the Leafs' fan base would tolerate a proper rebuild. - Atomic Wedgie
So that's a yes then? |

oh.... just jettison the talent.. play the grinders with the kids worth keeping.. dont tank deliberately.. but lets give up this absurd hope that there is any relevant the leafs can do assembled as they are
they are going to lose.. lose... and lose some more.. but for once... its happening with enough time to be a big seller at the deadline |

Burke built the 18 wheeler. Nonis took over the reins and drove it through doodoo. Beyond Kadri, Percy and Reilly, I really don't think that drafting/prospect pool is anything to write home about. |

Brian Burke's 5 year plan as just as successful as they were back in the old USSR - TheMussel
He did an alright job considering he had basically zero to work with after the Musky 5 brought back next to nothing... He left the club with reasonable contracts that even the bad ones were easily dealt with and he left them with a lot of cap space, which was very quickly blown by nonis in a poor way... |
