I think that it's more indicative of the incompetence of the player safety dept than anything else. Hand out large fines, give multiple game suspensions, hell even throw in some additional community engagement duties during those times. Make people pay dearly with time and money and they'll start to care. - lumlums

Ya but they pick and choose, they have a monopoly and get to decide... Let the players deal with it, Vatenen should have at least been run the rest of the night... |

Now all I hear is that caveman grunting from that heartburn reducer commercial looking at the pic. |

The only reason I kept the game on in the 3rd last night was to see how they responded to that happening. Needless to say, I shut the game off shortly after. |

yup. If they are bad for a while and get young guys to truly build a round (they wont lose a dime) and then build a perennial contender it will make then 10x more than what they are doing now. - burn
is there a #1C lurking in the 8th or 9th spot when we pick in June or are we just fecked and damned for all of hockey eternity? |

If I'm an impending UFA after most teams have bought heavily into analytics, I'd be firing the puck at the net from absolutely everywhere, Jason Blake style. My point totals might suck, but I would be 'a driver of possession' and my point totals would only suck because of bad luck and teams would give me the big contract because it's just a matter of time before that luck turns - 1979AD
That is the crux of my whole arguement. Somehow, these advanced stats guys have everyone believing that more shots towards the goal = more possession and the correlation is so good that the numbers can be expressed in 1/10th of a percent accuracy.
Oh, and I am sick of graphs telling me crap I already didn't care about, or misleading me into believing that MacArthur "drives more possession" than Crosby. |

Lovin that 4th line boys, loving it... I'v seen goalies run this year, players taken advantage of and the Leafs standing around looking like bums... |

That's the idea, although there may be some exceptions. Eg. the way Boston was willing to ship out a 21 year old 36 goal scorer rather than sign him big money long term because they didn't feel he would fully buy in with or fit their team identity. - 1979AD

Not likely.... It's possible that a good c goes later in the draft (as often does happen) |

Let him drive the entire possession fleet if he wants, he'll never be anywhere near the player Crosby is. |

I am sure there is a highly skilled #1C who we will pick. Too bad he will be too small or too slow to play C in the NHL and will become a mediocre winger, at best.

You mean Gionta?... Yup, that wasn't good at all... Nevertheless, the team identified with being tough, tougher than the B's I'd say... Now they identify with... We'll... Does anybody know?... Am I in Edmonton?... |
