peggy's ego doesn't change when he gets harassed about the sabres at the nfl owners meetings? - homiedclown
I'm sorry but Pegula is to much of a FAN and if Marrone wouldn't have walked, he would still be here. Pegula is loyal that's why Darcy and Lindy didn't get canned. |

the calgary/ducks offer?
he should have taken the pick - homiedclown
No, the Jets was a pick or Galiardi and the Ducks was a pick. The Ducks passed and made a move for Brewer. |

As much as i dont think we need any more picks, i dont see much on our team that is a FA that is worth much else. We could package picks and a player for another player down the road or at the draft |

If Pegula was too much of a fan, everyone would be fired on a weekly basis.
I didn't like Marrone, but outside of Buffalo, no one would have expected him to be fired |

We don't need TJ Galiardi I know that and it was either him or a pick. I would rather not have more picks but i'm all for package deals. |

The Oilers need a goalie and we should help them, I would hate to see them keep losing |

I don't think that's always true. I agree Regier/Ruff should have been let go earlier but I don't really blame Pegula. He wanted to see what they could do with a stable owner willing to spend money |

The Oilers are so much better than us it's not even funny. They out shot the Lightning by a considerable amount tonight. They will pass us - sbroads24

Were losing, were holding up our end. Number 1 pick is never guaranteed. - zdp1189
I guess holding up our end is a good way to put it |

This is definitely exactly what happened....regier got about a year and a half-ish? If i recall correctly, he quoted a 3 year plan. And halfway through it, the team was a tire fire. So, he was rightfully relieved of his duties. I think Pegula was trying to be a nice guy and he got burned. |

I agree, especially after the Bills finished a winning season for the first time in years and the current coach was going into his 3rd year. Personally, I was no Marrone fan but firing him would not have been good for continuity.

I have no complaints whatsoever with these losses be they ugly or competitive. Just lose and reach the goal of getting one of the top two picks. My mindset will change next year and go back to rooting for wins until/unless they chit the bed and are out of the running for the playoffs, then tank on again!! |

Marrone and the team went 9-7.
Why would Peggy automatically can him? |

I was worried when Marrone left. No QB and no 1st. Not exactly a great sell. I have to hand it to Pegula. Landing Ryan is huge |

At this point, send stewart or stafford, mezaros, beniot, anywhere for anything....
I would have to imagine the agreement with some of these one year contracts like Beniot or Mezaros was, "you play decent and we'll send you to a playoff team at the deadline" and they couldnt even pull that off.
Either that, or the agreement was "hey, you REALLY suck, want some money?" |

I'm with ya... Kind of...
When I'm watching, I still can't help but root for the Sabres
I still get excited when we score, and it still gets me mad when someone scores on us... But then I remember McDavid/Eichel... And I calm right down
BC I know, we have a much better chance to eventually win a Cup(s) if we have one of those two...
So I deal with the losing, bc I can still see light at the end of the tunnel
I like A LOT of our young players & prospects, and I firmly believe that if we get a top2 pick we will be well on our way
Still need to find a franchise goalie IMO, but we have so many good prospects I think Murray will be able to trade for one (or at least a top young prospect that has a decent chance to at least be very good) eventually
I still can't root for us to lose
But I deal with it
For now |

So with that said....and trust me, im on board with finishing last, wouldnt you have liked to see a 4-6 loss? Or a 5-7 loss? Just to show you there's a PULSE? I kind of want to route for guys in the future....but even Girgensons has gone cold. that hurts!

Get out of my head, Fitz!!!
Well said, and exactly how I feel.
However, no team should continously get beat 5-1, 5-2, 6-1, 7-0, etc. I know we've had some close games this year, but this team is just as embarrassing as the one from last year. |

So when Stafford, Stewart, and Enroth or Neuvirth, and perhaps a few scrubs get traded before or at the deadline it will be interesting to see how much worse this team will get or whether it will matter. They can't get much worse, can they? |
