And his inability to get along with Hasek is well documented. DiPietro had a career year when they made the playoffs. Gudlesvkis almost stole that game for Latvia. People act like Latvia outplayed Canada. That wasn't the case. They should have got murdered. It wasn't some "inspiration from a coach". It was a goaltender playing the game of his life. And that's the story of Ted Nolan's career. When his goaltending is stellar, not just good, but stellar, he wins some games. When his goaltending is anything below great, he wins very little.

Give it a break.
How about, when he has below average talent he has a track record of success...finding ways to win with less skilled players.
All this crap about a goalie being responsible for his career success across multiple teams in multiple league..eh, seriously.
Then by example, Billl Bilicheck is a colossal waste of a coach.

Fixed!
The entire league knows of this tanking and, it's shameful...disgraceful!

Sorry I have PRIDE just like Patty Lafontaine, I would never go along with the clown show that beady eyed fcuk is producing.

Bravo for Murray's douchbaggery!

If I were Nolan, and I didn't get a fair shake after this season of being made to coach an AHL roster on an NHL team, I would beat the fcuk out Murray if I were Nolan.
Not only is Murray ruining Nolans coaching career but he, in the end, may be taking away from his family, that is where you get physical with someone.

I guess we will see in time.

Hell if Teddy asked me, i'd beat the fcuk outta Tim for him and gladly accept the few days in jail.

2 things in life I can't stand in life.

Cowards.

&

Cowards that always look for the easy way out and build themselves off of others labor. (Insert Darcy)

I am so happy that Patty kept his pride no matter the dollar amount and left on his terms.
Some people can't be bought. Some. I wouldn't of went along with this embarrassment either.

Note: Thank God I am listening to my Irish heritage music (celtic) Secret Garden this morning (Pastorale) which means spiritual landscape otherwise this post may have been worse.

As they say "pride goeth before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall"

Murray's got one job, win a stanley cup. Is it really a form of "douchebaggery" if he chooses to build his team in a manner that has been used by previous cup winners and the current elite of the NHL? Yea it's not pretty but sometimes it's a necessary evil and in a hard cap sport more often than not.

As for Nolan, he can leave any time he wants if he's not satisfied with the coaching job. It's a risk he knew of when he first accepted the job, that Lafontaine may hire someone who wants to do it differently then what Nolan would have liked. He could have said no to the extension they offered him, this is his choice to stick around.

Here is a very good article on Mitchell Marner

2015 draft: London’s Mitchell Marner is all grown up and putting on a show

If you think drafting teenagers into the NHL is a difficult task, imagine what GMs in major junior have to deal with. Those teams have to scout players who are only 15 (and 14 in the case of the WHL) and could still have growth spurts that will change their bodies completely.
Which brings us to London Knights right winger Mitch Marner. When he was taken 19th overall in the 2013 OHL draft, Marner came in at just 5-foot-7.5 and 130 pounds. Sure, he had a great resume with Toronto’s Don Mills Flyers, but what if he didn’t get much bigger?

“There’s always debate when a player is undersized,” said Knights assistant GM and assistant coach Rob Simpson. “But we looked at both his mom and dad and they were both taller.”

So London pulled the trigger and lo and behold, Marner got bigger. He grew an inch and a half that summer, then two more inches since. Now Marner is 5-foot-11, 164 pounds and more importantly, the leading scorer in the OHL with 32 goals and 82 points in 40 games.

“With his point production and how he runs the power play with Max Domi – not many skill guys have what he does inside of him,” Simpson said. “Not only does he want the points, but he wants the win. He’s a big piece to our puzzle.”

Despite his growth spurt, Marner maintains that the key to his success in London has been sticking to his original plan, back when he was a smaller player.
“The first year going in, I had the same mindset as I did this year,” he said. “Keep my feet moving in the corners and try to be defensively responsible. My game is about staying low to the ice and I try to keep doing that now that I’m taller.”

But Marner’s most important traits involve high skill. He’s a tremendously creative player who prides himself on creating chances for the Knights, something he has done consistently this season, even as London has gone through upheaval. Domi, the Arizona first-rounder, missed games due to NHL camp and the world juniors, while Vancouver first-rounder Bo Horvat never returned – he made the Canucks in the fall. The team also recently traded away Montreal first-rounder Michael McCarron and veteran defenseman Dakota Mermis. Still, getting Domi back was huge in Marner’s eyes.

“He’s such a great player and a great leader,” he said. “We feed off him.”
Domi will almost certainly be gone to the pros next season, meaning Marner will be front and center in all facets for the Knights. Fortunately, the right winger has already played in a Memorial Cup thanks to London hosting last season. Though the Knights were unceremoniously dumped in three straight games, knowledge was gained through the adversity.

“Playing against the talent in that tournament was special,” Marner said. “I learned just how important it is to compete every shift.”

Marner is shooting up the draft rankings and with the height thing behind him, it’s hard to see anything that would prevent him from being a top-10 pick or perhaps even top-five. And it’s very tempting to compare him to a former London Knights star who also had a slight frame, but put up a ton of points: Chicago Blackhawks ace Patrick Kane. Marner looks up to Kane and hopes he can live up to any comparisons, lofty as they may be.

Kane racked up an insane 145 points in 58 games the year he went first overall to the Hawks, but something tells me the Knights are quite happy with the production they’re getting from Marner, even if he ends up with a couple less than that.

Exactly, Ted can talk till he is blue in the face, which he has.

If a player has "checked out" they aren't going to listen.

If Steve Ott were still here, that would not be going on in that dressing room nor on the ice.

I don't blame any of this on Nolan, he is the very least of our worries.

It's a shame what Murray has turned this club into the short time he has been here.

I don't blame Patty for leaving if he knew this is what was in store.

Apparently Murray didn't like the challenge of building a team the proper way.

He would much rather take the easy path which to me, whenever anyone in their job field goes for the easy path, tells me everything I need to know about their character, their make up as an individual.

Tim's a loser in my eyes.

- BuffaloHardHat

Ummm, Darcy and Pegula set this team on the Tank course...once that path was selected and they started to unload talent, there was no turning back, only drive it further to tank the best. He is executing the plan laid out and committed to by ownership. Not doing it to the best of his abilities would be reason for blaming him.
Kinda like deciding you are going to replace the concrete sidewal not repair it...then 2/3rds of the way through changing your mind...wow what a mess you created and much more difficult to win the design And build contest for best sidewalk.

There’s no question Nolan’s frustrated, “It’s extremely hard. When you ask somebody to do something and they don’t do it, what can you do? It’s impossible to change everybody and the old slogan in sports is the easiest guy to change in sports is the coach. That’s the easy way and I’ve seen it done a lot of times and is it the right thing to do, I’m not too sure, but that’s just the fact of our business.”

I will my Irish brother.

But only if he gives Nolan a fair shake after putting him through a season of coaching AHL talent and worse on an NHL team.

Sorry what is being done to Teddy is just wrong, period!
The poor man looks exhausted from coaching this fcuking steaming pile of shlt.

Idk what u expected to be done...
In MOST ppl's opinion, it was actually quite surprising all the players we brought in during the offseason
I know there was talk Moulson liked it here, but I still expected him to sign with a contender like Ott did
Gionta and George's were both BIG surprises, and Meszaros & Benoit were depth guys so we wouldn't be throwing too many kids out there...

Idk if you're expecting major trades or free agent signings, but we were the worst team in the league last year... By A LOT...
That takes time to fix
And Murray is on record from day 1 saying this is a "rebuild"

And Nolan knew the state of the roster when he agreed to come here
He's no fool, and I'm sure he knew there was no overnight fix

Teddy isn't a quitter and doesn't pride himself off of building a reputation upon everyone else's hard work unlike Murray.
Teddy has built himself, again unlike Murray living off of his Uncles reputation.

I have no respect for the douchebag right now, none!

If he gives Teddy an earnest shot next season with a roster of real NHL er's then my opinion of him may change a little.
I still don't like the sissy way this organization is going about trying to build a winner and I will never agree with it.
People with pride normally don't like this sissy method , that's why Patty left, I am sure of it.

Hahaha, thanks dude!
As far as Marner goes... I def wanna see him play more. Idk if I saw him much before the WJs. Esp if we miss out on the top2, sounds like Murray will have a tough decision between him & Hanifin. Nice article

As far as the draft goes in general,
Konecny seems to be falling to mid1st in a lot of places I've been checking out
I like the idea of targeting him with the NYi or StL pick. Hopefully both those teams lose in the 1st round of the playoffs so we won't have to trade up too far to get another really nice talent or 2

Nope! It really is disgraceful and he is watching his coach drown when he has the ability to toss a life preserver in the water, yet he turns away and keeps the life preserver on board for another day...probably for himself!

Then you are discounting several years of very good talent acquisition history actress multiple teams .. Just like the Nolan haters are doing by claiming all his success across multiple teams should be discounted.
Tim is doing the best he can to maximize thelongterm good of this franchise. Nolan is doing the best he can with ECHL and AHL talent competing in the NHL ... For the short term benefit of the club. Consistently playing lazy, not executing after 45 games is on the players, period. No weare no replacing them too early as that will jeopardize the long term benefits derived by sucking this year.
Next year is when the build part Begins...and yes, we will still select top 7 or 8 in 2016.

This is where I disagree

The D is talented and either NHL proven or first rd picks
Who is AHL talent in the NHL on the sabres?
Staff?
Stewart?
Gionta?
Moulson?
Ennis?
Girgens?
Coho?
Flynn?
Foligno?

The special teams are the worst I have ever seen

No way Nolan gets a pass IMO

Everything.

My point was, Tim Murray has done nothing without the aid of his uncle, nothing.

Show me proof he is the one that drafted Getzlaf.

Show me proof that he is the one that said "draft Getzlaf Uncle Bryan".

And don't try to twist it, I want verbatim truth he is the one that pulled the trigger.

I won't accept speculation or hear-say.

You're nuts dude
What moves do u think can be made during the season to make us a respectable playoff contender?
No one is trading Stamkos, Crosby, or even a Taylor Hall... And even if we could get something like that, we'd be giving up Myers + which just creates other holes in this years lineup

U still have refused to answer exactly what kind of moves u think should be done
And u ignore that Nolan KNEW he was taking over a poor roster in the middle stages of a REBUILD
