I didn't say anything about playoffs and you are wrong, they wanted Nolan and don't view him as a stop gap. People need to let it go already. - SABRES 89
Any legit coach they hired would have been given at least a 3 year contract. Management and Nolan knew this team was going to be in the gutter for at least the next 2 years and Pegula has no problem firing Nolan and paying him the remainder of his contract when the time comes and TM hires the guy he really wants. If this team finishes last or 2nd last again with horrid analytical numbers we'll see if Nolan gets a shot at developing the young talent one more year. |

I thought everyone already knew Murray kept Nolan on to get through this rebuilding phase and would bring in his own coach when we are ready to be good. Some people are just realizing this? - Cheeseballin
What some don't realize is that he didn't have to keep him, he offered him the deal because they wanted him and want to keep him. Doesn't have anything to do with " just getting by " with Nolan, Murray didn't have to keep him but they choose to because that's the direction they wanted to go. |

Isn't he the guy that threw Cutler under the bus and then cried about it? - SABRES 89
He told the truth about the guy.. Not worried though he will be the Oline coach under Greg Roman |

Horrible hire by the Bills as OL coach, they could have done better. - SABRES 89
He did great as OL coach for New Orleans, don't see where the "horrible" comes from. |

Why would Murray bring in the guy he wants behind the bench with this roster? He knows he dosent want to fire his own guy after 2-3 years of sucking. That is what Nolan is for, he is here to be fired |

Anyone that allegedly "already knew" that would simply be speculating.
After all , who is Tim Murray anyway?
He has much to do to earn my respect.
He's done nothing for this franchise thus far. |

If that's the case, this franchise is even farther away from a championship than we all originally thought. - buffalofan19
It happens with almost every franchise that goes through a rebuild. Even if they don't view him as a stop gap (and they could very well change their minds about that) I bet they'll consider an upgrade should it become available .
I'm not saying he won't get his chance but I don't think this group will hesitate for a second to scapegoat him at the first sight of underachievement or if things take longer than expected.

Nolan is here to be fired? really. People are wasting to much time with Nolan in the board. I'll say it again, both Murray and Nolan knew the deal about this team when they signed on, so to speak. It takes time and I for one didn't think they would play this bad but they are so we should go with it and try for the 1st or 2nd pick. That's what everyone has wanted but some are still complaining, who cares if we get shutout or keep losing. |

I think Murray gets aggressive after this years draft but it may be 2016 for that to happen.
If i was him I would be doing it this year but I also think there will be some teams in horrible cap trouble the next couple years so maybe 2016 is the better year. - BigStew
Define aggressive. I think hes more than willing to move picks and guys right now. I think hes getting lowball offers and hes asking for the moon. As long as he sticks to his plan, im good. His only priority should be moving out the ufas, and in my opinion, hodgson- just because his buyout becomes more expensive next summer. |

I'm with you there. Don't mind losing, just like to see some effort. Nolan can't get the effort from them anymore. Im cool with Nolan being here for the tank job though. He is doing great haha |

This is why hiring folk heroes is never a good idea. People get blinded and can't see the real picture. Murray will absolutely be bringing in his own coach |

IMO, we need to give Nolan and Murray a chance to see what will happen going forward after this year, most knew this year would be bad so lets wait and see. I'd like to see what Murray does at the trade deadline. |

Why can't you see it? he brought in Nolan he didn't have to bring him back but he did, why can't you seem to figure that out. Nobody forced Murray to offer Nolan the deal. |

Even Brad May and some folks on the NHL network have said it, some players on this team aren't " playing " and it's gone on to long. They just don't seem to get it yet, they will when they are gone. |

Actually the rumor was the gm search was going to lean favorably towards somebody willing to give nolan a chance. Cant confirm that of course, just suggesting that maybe nolan was part of the agreement. |
