I realize that Nolan did not have to take the job smitty.

It was an opportunity to coach in the NHL once again.

Once again to coach a team that he made his mark with in the NHL world.

There are only 30 openings in the world to coach an NHL hockey team.

I am sure Nolan knew what he was getting into and so did Patty and I firmly believe that is why Patty left.

But Ted , a coach whom always gets the most out of every single player on his roster(and has proven that everywhere he has been) figured, well I can probably get this to team to be at least entertaining and not the absolute tire fire it is at the moment because Murray refuses to give him any help.

Players like Hodgson, Meszaros , Stafford should not even be on this roster but Ted is forced to keep them playing for the sake of Murray's goal which is just not fair to Nolan.

Smitty, even if you knew there were going to be many obstacles in your way of icing a NHL roster and were merely given discarded table scraps , I ask you, would you still want 1 of 30 NHL coaching jobs?
I am sure Teddy never imagined he would be forced to keep icing the likes of Hodgson and others I mentioned which is simply disgraceful on Murray's part.

HE BROUGHT IN GIONTA, MOULSON, GORGES, DESLAURIERS, MESZAROS, BENOIT AND KEPT RISTOLAINEN AND ZADOROV WHEN THEY CLEARLY COULD HAVE GONE BACK TO AHL OR JUNIOR.

SO STOP SAYING MURRAY DIDN'T BRING ANYONE IN FOR POOR OL' TEDDY!

AND, FOR THE RECORD, LAFONTAINE IS A HEAD CASE. WALKED OUT ON THE ISLANDERS, AND WALKED OUT ON THE SABRES. HE'S A QUITTER WHEN HE DOESN'T GET HIS WAY.

GOOD GOD.

Wouldn't we need to take back salary though? We need his cap hit to stay above the cap floor. I don't seee how we could just trade him for a pick straight up
- Cheeseballin

I'm sure we could find another useless player for now.

Murray brought in players and coaches that wanted to be here, he said that countless times after the season. We need to wait and see how it works out from the trade deadline on to see what happens.

"Money isn't everything"- BuffaloHardHat two posts ago...

So which is it my man. I thought Nolan was all about self-respect, not money

- Cheeseballin

Two very different circumstance about money.

That situation you brought up has to do with feeling like he would have been underpaid.

The situation we are discussing now, speaking to when it comes to him stepping down perhaps before this season is even over has to do with keeping his self respect and his pride and no amount of money being worth that.

I don't even know how or why you are comparing the 2 situations?

You missed much of the conversation but you are free to type in CAPS LOCK whatever you feel necessary.
- BuffaloHardHat

No. I read the entire conversation. Starting at page one. And after your first post, I about threw up.

You always avoid the questions and have yet to enlighten us all on how to build a winner, since Murray clearly knows nothing.

1.Nope, He wanted a ridulocus salary at the time.
2. Any facts to support your claim that he wants to step down?

Hockey is a business, don't paint Nolan as a saint. He is tryign to make as much money as he can just like anyone else would.

He didn't bring in Moulson, Darcy did the season before and sold Moulson.
Risto and Zadarov? Who else do you expect to have up here, what are the other choices/options? It's bad enough we have guys like Meszaros, Benoit and Strachan in this lineup every night.
Now, look at the other names you mentioned in your first sentence.
Yea, I laughed too.

How about Cody Franson? Would have to be Stewart+, but we could actually have someone run the powerplay effectivly. I like Zidlicky , but he is older

I never said he wanted to step down.

Please read before replying, I said I would not blame Teddy.

I still don't get how you are trying to compare the 2 situations but anyhow....

I understand this team has a AHL roster. I also understand that the goal is to tank.

I do not understand why its okay to defend a coach so much when nobody defended Rolston...

Same situation the goal is to tank.

Why is it poor Teddy? But it wasn't poor Ron?

Rolston obviously is not a NHL coach. But the argument still remains.

TM is doing what he needs to do with the team Darcy built...suffer through another year and go from there.

Nolan signed up for this, he knew what he was getting into

Well then, clearly you know how to build a winner, yet you fail to enlighten any of us - or Tim Murray, for that matter - on how to do it.

Please share.

At the end of the day, Nolan is not a good NHL coach, and Hasek is the reason he had 1 good season in the NHL.

- grand-magus

I have answered every question heaved into my court which is why I have been here much longer than I ever wanted to be.

Building a winner?

I already answered that as well.
Just because you don't like my answer doesn't mean that I didn't answer it.

I love my Sabres, I have been there since their inception but the way they are going about it is the cowards way, the easy way, the way a whore just tosses both legs in the air easy, disgraceful.
Sorry I don't respect the tank just like I don't respect that whore.

Murray has been handed a ton from the previous GM in terms of draft picks and talent in the minors.
Right now this is Darcy's stamp still on this team because Tim has done absolutely nothing but bring in washed up old forwards and defensemen.

Murray has much to do to earn the same respect I have for Nolan.

And if that is truly the case he will be gone is less than two years and we will have 2 more Top 2 picks in the system. I for one am okay with that, for now anyway.

It may be a crappy way of doing it but Chicago and Pittsburgh did the exact same thing. If we get similar results, this will be worth it.

And again and again, and yet again I ask, who would you have brought in. What would you have done?

Stafford for Toews?

Weber for Keith?

Perhaps we could have signed Perry, Kane, Crosby and Eric Karlsson?

Oh wait. They weren't free agents.

Look at the cap space this team has and had.

If you're a good GM, you make things happen.

Apparently the best Murray could do was some washed up has beens.

I certainly hope the future holds better things for Mr Murray.

Yes because free agents were lining up at the door to play for Teddy on a last place team that the GM inherited. Lets throw crazy contracts at average players its worked in the past...Ville Leino anyone?
