I also don't think Reinhart makes just any player elite.

It's easy to see that while Reinhart & Domi are both extremely talented, they are also very different players in terms of style.

Reinhart is the heady & graceful play maker. He needs an explosive & dynamic finisher like Domi, to maximize his passing skills in exploiting the opponent.


With a clean slate to build upon, I really don't know why TM wouldn't at least kick the tires on a guy like Max Domi. He has routinely mentioned swapping a few picks for a more NHL ready player.


Reinhart/McDavid/Domi would be an amazing sight for the sore eyes in WNY.

It isn't so much the losing that is bad...it is the way guys in the locker room deal with it .. Check out, do what they want cause there is zero hope, reduce the compete cause they don't think it will help such a crappy talentless team, in-fighting .

Infighting can ruin a good team and keep it from its goals. In the situation I think that kind of passion would actually be a good thing.

The only thing I could compare it to is I've worked for companies before that were going under. They were like the Titanic with 3 inches of water on the deck. People were just coming into work and mailing it in. In some cases it went on for over a year. No management, no oversight, no expectations. You get lazy, you get complacent. It affects everyone.

Yes, you are finishing in last place. And you're trading off the like Enroth & Myers if that's what nessicary to do so. This is all required in the name of "building" and elite scoring line.


So now you've got a McEichel & a Sam Reinhart... Are you going to use them as 1/2 centers, or are you gonna play them on the same line with another elite player (yet to be found)?

Girgensons/Ennis/Moulson looks like a line I'd like to keep togeather, so I'd just assume put Reinhart with McDavid and whomever (maybe Grigorenko?).

You don't need to sacrifice a defensive core to build an "elite scoring line" meaning there is no reason to be trading Myers. He along with Zads and Risto are apart of that defensive core. Girgensons, Reinhart and McEichel are all talented enough that you can throw average to above average wingers on their line and have scoring depth. I'm not trading Myers for Hall just because I want to give McDavid an 80 point winger...LA and Boston don't have "elite" wingers and do/did just fine.

I don't blame them for making mistakes. My point is that they are too young to be announced as the next top pairing of the Buffalo Sabres.

Zadorov was inconsistent in juniors, made great plays followed up by dumb ones. There is a reason 4 other defensemen were taken ahead of him and if it wasn't for the KHL he would still be in juniors.

Honest question, what has he actually done to cement a spot on the top pair for the next decade

I responded to a poster claiming they were locked in as our top pair, I don't think that's set in stone at all. Zads wouldn't even be here if he weren't singed to a KHL contract
