I will only accept a losing season if we get either McDavid, that US defenseman, Eichel, or Mitch Marner. - KGBflyers10
Prepare to be disappointed. We'll pick 8th and go off the board. |

Sell. Sell. Sell.
Flyers 2015 first round pick, Sean Couturier, prospect (say Hagg), and next year's 2nd round pick for the 2nd overall 2015 pick. - redcoat75
Wholely unrealistic.
But I do wonder if Coots would get you a decent lotto pick in this draft... |

what shtick is that? I would chime in with a resounding no as well. that is just too much. they should be drafting around 7th-10th. giving up basically 2 high first round picks and a second is a lot. I'd sooner just take the best available where they draft. If anything I would like to see them move veterans for additional picks not move young players or picks - nastyflyergirl
And at #7 as of this very post my pick would likely be Mikko Rantanen

Thanks for the summary Bill. I thought that, considering who was coaching and the players he had to work with, the Sabres really had a good scheme for attacking the Flyers. Pressure the top line 100% in all three zones and make the other lines beat you. Turned out that the G line was a -2.
Looking forward to your All Star Break blogs. Always a good read. |

Couturier is and always will be a third line center, a good one albeit. It would be like giving up a 3rd line center, a B+ prospect, and a 2nd rounder for a lock of a high producing player. It doesn't matter anyway because it is a fantasy that we would get him for that little. |

And I like Lindros and all but at the end of the day I think I'd pick P.Forsberg over Lindros. At the end of the day the Nordiques got the better end of the trade. They got more out of Forsberg than we did out of Lindros + more assets - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I'd make that trade again in a heartbeat. |

Tell me about it. As soon as they trade away some dead weight they are going to go on a tear and ruin their position. |

Zacha around 5 - 7 Crouse probably between 10 - 15 at the moment. But I believe Crouse will be a good one. |

NO!!
Trading Couturier and Hagg (never mind the 2nd round pick next year) alone is too high a price for just a draft pick. The value of a younger player like Couturier and Hagg is greater than the potential of Eichel or McDavid. They may be exceptional players but neither one is going to be the next Crosby or Mario, and those would be the only players I would trade young pros for the right to draft.

Coots and Hagg for either McDavid or Eichel?
I'm preparing the trade papers and warming up my fax as I type this. |

I don't think this organization has enough depth to give up that much for Eichel. Now if we were talking McDavid I would really have to think about it. |

Stay at whatever pick they get and if they can add a few more picks with other moves you do it or at least explore it. |

Hexy has to be cautious about selling. There are certain parts of the team that I would consider trading for picks, but people who call for trading Coburn, Streit, Schenn, Grossmann forget that we will need some sort of defense next year. Morin, Sanheim Ghost Hagg won't be able to step in seamlessly next season and I don't see us picking up 4 dmen as UFAs (nor should we.) There's no easy solution to this.. it's going to take time. |

you are also including this year's pick which should fall between 6-10. from what is being said its a strong draft. I think I rather keep that pick and your young player/prospect and take what should still be a good players where they draft. its not like we are talking about picking 20th overall. |
