Can't help but think back to the game Mason flat-out stole a point -- that was one of the most thorough whippings the Flyers have taken that I can remember, ever
Flyers have to address some things, no doubt. It can be done, but there are definitely things that need to happen to close the gap. It's not going to all be internal improvement

No, but you've yet to tell us what Hextall said about the Sabres. - jmatchett383
Flyers General Manager Ron Hextall, a guy who knows a thing or three about winning, was asked here Saturday about his team’s stance looking at the draft. Pretty much, he was asked if the Flyers were going to start tanking too. Hextall growled.
“You can’t sit and say, “OK, we’ll just not win any games and we’ll get McDavid or Eichel.’ ” Hextall said. “That’s not the way it works. You’ve got to have credibility. This organization, that’s not what it stands for. You don’t dictate necessarily where you finish. You owe it to your fans, you owe it to hockey to try to win every game.”
The Sabres sure don’t play like they owe anything to the fans (players) or the game (management). |

So the Habs will play the Bruins, and Boston will host their 2nd winter classic? |

I read that yesterday -- that columnist absolutely tore the Sabres apart

Nah, this was an off-year for Pittsburgh. Next year it's their turn to host it. They only get the even-numbered years. |

Yep, Mason is the sole reason they got a point. It's part of why I don't want a new coach right now-there's other flaws. Just use the rest of the season to evaluate and see what the younger and depth guys can do |

I'm fine with evaluating anyone with size who can skate for the bottom 6 -- I totally realize that the defense is long-term, but I do hope that Hextall's on the lookout for some "talented toughness and size" who can help them |

No, they're that bad. They have yet to allow a shot, and they're losing. In fact, the game hasn't even started and they're losing. |

It's not all on Berube, no.
Telling guys to work harder only goes so far when they're not very talented. |
