I think the rankings are just indicative of up to date performances, not necessarily a mock draft. - Sabresfan-365
If some Gm is dumb enough to take him top 5 let them ..
a top ten player will go late for us then |

I would trade a late pick for him in the summer ..
next years draft is going suck i'm sure half the NHL will hate it and go back to the old way the next year |

When we are ready to win what will come of the goalie situations in Boston Montreal etc teams who have a great goalie in the works who will force playing time. As we see teams wont over pay for two goalies let alone one |

I threw this name (Carl Hagelin) out a while back, I think with the Rangers cap situation and depth it could be a real possibility. - Sabresfan-365
Times 2 on the above. I'd also love to get Mats Zuccarello. I have a feeling that one of those two will be available due to the Rangers situation, and both would be a tremendous get for Buffalo.
I think that is why you don't scoff at a 2nd round pick in return for someone like Stewart or Stafford.
You can take that pick along with the latest first and use that as leverage to get someone like Hagelin or Zuccarello, or you use one of the 2nd's and a prospect. |

I understand some like picks and prospects however, we can't keep iceing a team of kids we have to have NHL talent as well. |

Oh for sure, beginning next year, I'm hoping the team uses some future draft picks to acquire some young proven talent. |

We have enough picks to do that, I agree. As long as they don't do anything stupid like trade Myers for ROR and then have to pay him 7 mill a year. ROR isn't worth the money. |

Someone is going to be disappointed - dadeadhead
"Stafford is a player with good size and strength who possesses excellent hockey sense. While he is listed at 200 lbs. he looks to be a bit on the thin side. He possesses very good hand-eye coordination along with a long reach. Stafford is a player who has the ability to really step up his game and plays very well at both ends of the ice. He’s an excellent skater with good hustle and acceleration. His play along the boards and in the corners is also quite good, with the ability to grind things out. He maneuvers very well around opposing defensemen, at times making some highlight reel moves. He’s willing to drive to the net and is able to create havoc around it. He can deliver as well as take the punishing checks and doesn’t shy away from the physical aspects of the game. He sees the ice and anticipates remarkably well. He possesses some nice hands and good passing ability. His awareness both offensively and defensively allows him to play in any situation. His outstanding work ethic hasn’t gone unnoticed either."
Lawson Crouse: "A big-bodied power winger with the ability to physically dominate, making him a prominent forechecking presence every night. Possesses good hands that can be used to make crisp passes or to let loose accurate, NHL-level shots; paired with his strength and skating ability, his skill set allows him to contribute offensively, as well as create space for teammates."
Do the Sabres need this guy? If he comes exactly as advertised, do you draft him, say... 16th? |
