Peters played in the NHL, he isn't an idiot. Played a different role, but played with and against top notch talent. All hockey players are good guys (people skills) different than other professtional sports. - Irish 14
I don't mind him one bit. Would rather his thoughts on whats happening or not . He has been on the bench, ice, locker room. Think he has a better grasp of whats going on vs a reporter that sees a small amount more than we do. |

I'm just amazed how many on this site sh!t on our hometown athletes!
Just a different generation I guess? - Irish 14
because playing in the NHL makes you a good scout? it makes you good at determining who is good and who is not? I'd rather listen to my 7 yr old nephews opinion over Peters. |

When you say something like "Connor McDavid may not be good because he doesn't do the little things" you deserve al the criticism you get.
Peters would take a team full of Matt Ellis over a team full of McDavid..... He may have played, but his opinion is wrong. |

Its hard to know the context. Maybe it was in regards to playing next year in the NHL (which would more valid). On the surface given his talent and work ethic that there would be absolutely no concerns about that kind of stuff.

So is there a trade freeze for a few days for the All Star break?
Who do we think we will be the first to go? Stafford, Stewart, a Goalie, or another player? (doubt we get much for a goalie if anything at this time).
Ennis does look good and I would not mind him (on the Sabres) moving forward, but if someone wanted to overpay with a 2015 first and prospect, then I would consider moving him, but it would have to be a good deal.
The whole Myers thing is all over the place and it does not seem like that is a fit to be moved before the deadline. I would consider a Zadorov move, but only if it was for a young star forward, no other way (thinking of you Taylor Hall, which the Sabres would include more for sure).
As far as the Islanders and Blues in the playoffs (cause let's face it, they are both making the playoffs), we can just hope that they lose in the first round, which is entirely possible (depending on the match up). |

It was straight in terms of his ability. Is he good enough to know when to chip the puck out of the zone. Do the little things. |

Ah, ok. Ray says a lot of that kind of stuff and it drives me crazy. This is the kind of stuff that minimizes the individual's talent. |

Doesn't surprise me in the least to be honest Irish.
All you have to do is read posts here from certain posters here.
They clearly can do a better job "IN THEIR OPINION".

So do you agree with Peters that McDavid may not be good because his ability to chip the puck off the boards out of the zone? |

As much as I want the Sabres to finish last, I do hate the current draft system. The Sabres are blatantly exploiting a flawed system, which, to me, "rewards" losing. And I say good on them for doing so. I'm not sure that the 2016 rules are the way to fix things, but the system does need to be fixed. - buffalofan19
The only idea I can come up with, that would be fun for the fans to watch but probably at the very least disinteresting for the players, would be for the 14 teams that didn't make the playoffs to have their own playoff format to determine the top pick.
Format: top 2 teams in terms of points that missed the playoffs receive a first round bye, remaining 12 teams play a best 2 out of 3 playoff series. Winners move on to the final 8 where it's another best 2 of 3 format, winners move on to the semi-finals (2 of 3 again), then finals to determine the top 2 picks.
They could have some kind of trophy made for the winner along with receiving the first pick overall. I'm sure the players could care less about playing in a tournament for the 1st pick, but it would be fun to watch from the fans perspective. |

You have a lot to learn my friend. I always want to say more to you and others, but I choose to take the high road.
You all have to remember that your opinion is respected, but not gold! I have come a long way in here and have backed off many of my beliefs & thoughts (not worth the headache). |

Rob Ray has been purely bs-ing for over 2 years at this point. He probably blurts out random hockey quotes in his sleep. "ALL THEY HAVE TO DO HERE IS KEEP IT SIMPLE"
Sure Rob, they're down 5-1 and have 4 goals in their last 255 minutes. |

At this point it's all about Edmonton. I'd still like a little breathing room. If Edmonton can make a move to improve their roster I'd feel safer. I think the 'Canes and 'Yotes will hold serve and play .400 hockey or so for the rest of the season.
Buffalo is by far and away the worst team in the league. |

he 2002-02 edition of the Buffalo Sabres set the franchise record with seven losses in a row from November 3-19, 2002 then matched it between December 20-31, 2002. And they weren't done either. Less than a month later they set the mark at eight games between January 25 and February 13, 2003.
Uh, Michael? You been taking lessons from Garth? Nice read though. We knew what you meant. |
