No doubt about that. Just would've been nice to see him play since I don't see much of the Phantoms and only caught a few of his WJC games. But dropping him into the lineup against the Pens with a Phantoms game on Wednesday would've been weird.

I actually think Hagg is better than Lauridson. It's just more difficult for an offensive player to make the jump from the AHL to the NHL. Lauridson will just be told to keep things simple and chip pucks out if nothing is there right away.

Hagg's last few games have been encouraging though. He's shown a bit more assertiveness. His shot is already NHL caliber. Streit may be the only one with a heavier, more accurate shot.

What if it had been Jake and/or Simmer in the deal instead?

thats a obvious no-deal for me and anyone else here. im just speculating since one of the possible deals was schenn/coots +. in hindsight i would have done it. back when it was being entertained, im with everyone in that it's a hard deal to pull the trigger since we dont know how players will pan out.

basically what im saying is that my argument is total bull**** and 100% in hindsight would have been a good deal and that everything im saying means nothing now and im a loser.

Agreed. Plus, at least Lauridsen has a few games of NHL experience. That's great to hear about Hagg though. I've only really been following his season stats wise and have always noticed the amount of shots he puts up. He only has two less shots than Cousins in 5 less games. Manning's got a whopping 107. Kind of wish there were Corsi/Fenwick sites for AHL players.

Did anyone catch the post game interview with Giroux? He seemed clearly upset and had sniffles. At one part there was even a shine of liquid below his eye. Idk if it was sweat or not but he really seemed down. Rightfully so. As for McDavid, I know he's going to be great but he's a C, so say if we get him, who do we move to make room for him? Schenn? Or even trade McDavid for a top defensemen right away. Perhaps a package for Weber (just for whatever sake since Weber is being discussed a bunch)
