I agree but outside of Giroux and Voracek, there isn't much on the talent side. You can argue Simmonds but he is more of a PP scorer but after that? You still need guys that can play. - Daveflyers36
Simmonds is also a good scorer at 5 on 5 play. He needs a playmaker to play with, which would see his ES production improve. |

And I have zero doubt that once his suspension is over, Coach Face Punch will plug him right back in the lineup. - PLindbergh31
No (frank)ing doubt. That guy can't do anything to get on their bad side.
Gus and Akeson can't even look Chief in the eye, or they get expunged. |

No idea what you're trying to say here.
So sure, they like Rinaldo over Akeson for the 4th-line... but we're talking about a 2nd-line spot right now.
Not to mention, when Akeson was actually up, he was stuck in that 4th-line role.
- Tomahawk
Do you think the Flyers see Rinaldo as a full time 2nd line winger? Akeson was stuck on the 4th line because he wasn't better then the players who were playing there at the time. |

The truly limiting factor to me is that even if they bring this style, their D just isn't good enough. I watched closely last night and the fumbling and bumbling of passes between D, and between D and forwards just shows me that they don't have what it takes. All those little errors add up and eithe cause turnovers directly or waste effort. Until that gets fixed, there can't be any consisitency even if they're fired up. - Hextall271
i totally agree. Its good to know that right now we have some serious defensive promise in our talent pool. |

For all the uproar, I really expected more from this hit...
It was a stupid play, his teammates should be mad, but I thought I'd be seeing a flying elbow into Letang's skull or something. (was trying to catch up on some Homeland...I stupidly assumed the lifeless Flyers were going to be in the building again tonight.)
Edit: Hopefully Letang is ok, just a little woozy, no concussion. - wolfhounds
okay take the pads off put them in tights and take away all contact... im sorry you guys are all over reacting. theres dirtier hits than this every game. this sissified contact stuff turned me off from football... is he a shining exame of class? hell no but he could've hit letang a lot worse. |

And I do agree with the earlier post that the Flyers do need to consistantly play with more of an edge but without good players, it isn't going to help very much. - Daveflyers36
If the Flyers played with the energy and emotion they played with last night, but smarter, it would help immensely. If they did that, they'd probably be in the playof hunt right now. |

Ironically, it went to Boston for the Chris Drury lookalike.
10/10 post, btw. |

Personally I think a lack of talent on D is our problem, not lack of intelligence. |

He really has not shown that too much in his career here in Philly. 47% of his goals while in O&B have come on the PP. |

They would be in the hunt, but their lack of quality d-men still would drag them down. |

That's the part that needs fixing. Might take a few years, but I expect some of those prospects to pan out. |

Certainly the lack of a top defense pairing is one of the Flyers biggest issues personnel wise, but that doesn't change that playing with more emtion and fire would help this team a lot. |

I agree, if they got in the playoffs, a lack of a legitimate top defense pair would hurt them. |

All I have to say is I hate you all. I had guests over last night so I missed the game - all but overtime...
Sigh.
I'm glad we won, now hopefully some of our injured players and those who are banged up can come back healed. I miss Mason, Grossmann, Coburn, and even Laughton!
I'd be fine with Rinaldo being suspended and then tossed back to the AHL. Let's bury his contract and keep moving. |

I understand the math. The point is that his goal scoring is really dependent on success on the PP. |
