It wouldn't surprise me if someone is, but to be honest, I don't think he needs too much encouragement. The fact that he's being rewarded with more icetime than more skilled players is a green light for him.
- tangent_man

think about it- ice time isn't getting cut. he's still on the team- i could see it like this: berube says you have a spot on this team as long as you play the role of my enforcer puppet- don't worry about penalties/suspensions etc- i need a dog that will hunt when i say so.

maybe not as animated as im making it but it's not that farfetched either.

It wasn't blatantly late, but it was close enough to be borderline. Combine the other aspects and I think the call & league action is warranted
- Jsaquella

Take the late out of the equation and it's still enough to give him seat.

Maybe he could give rides to Akeson back and forth from Allentown.

that's what upsets me. you shouldn't be able to print that poop without proof, and even if giroux DID talk about the guys playing chippy, nothing that happened in the game indicates it was orchestrated and looked like a scene out of slap shot.

the teams don't like each other, the games are generally chippy in philadelphia, and it was. it was entertaining. aside from the bad hit, nothing was wrong with that game from either team.

as much as i hate that it works, giroux gathering the troops and telling them to play chippy is (frank)ing smart. good on him if he did. again, i dont think he said alright zac you look for a star and you (frank)ing murder him. if he did, then thats poopty. but again, if zac is dumb enough to do so, he better hope giroux gives him a (frank)ing stipend when hes out of the league.

but yeah. i just dont know how you print something without any sort of foundation. especially at a major publication.

it's bush league writing and to use words like repugnant and subterranean is pathetic and hypocritical. the flyers continue to beat the penguins the same way over and over and over again. figure out how to change the outcome (frank)nuts. the flyers are doing nothing egregious or over the line, with the exception of a single play, which nobody condones. how about their stars really show up? how about capitalizing on 6 pps, 2 of which were back to back late in regulation? how about beating a back up goalie with a bionic hip? go cry moar.

Not sure I'd put another player in the car if he was behind the wheel.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm a little lost regarding this supposed planned out attack.

What's it about?

- 77rams

some hack (frank)stick pens writer claimed giroux planned a bloodbath with his teammates at an unnamed steakhouse beforehand. seriously.

i am not saying it's right or smart etc. but does anyone else think that berube sees a bit of himself in rinaldo? gives him ice time, doesn't really get punished, hell he was on the 3rd line! maybe berube is flawed in thinking that his type of play is still warranted in this league..
- black_francis

While I'm sure Berube is sympathetic to a rough and tumble type of player, I think it likely has more to do with thinking/knowing the team is relatively soft, which could be leading him to favor the few players available to him that have some sandpaper and physicality to their game over those with finesse and less size and/or physicality.

good. i was going to edit the post, but then i figured it would just come up later, which it did.

and i got it about the burned eyes.

the flyers have little to be proud of this season. they (frank)ing suck and everybody knows it. beating the penguins one more time and worsening their draft position is of no consolation to me.

No, he's actually like that.
- Jsaquella

It's true. I've been frequenting the same boards as our goalie friend for well over 15 years and he's always been as hot-headed and entertaining as this. I should dig up some epic rants from the old flyers newsgroup. Thing is, he's almost always right.
