he didn't mention the steakhouse slaughter plan. - hammarby31
That was fantastic.
"Alright, let's make sure we get this right, Zac: I think it's about time you murder Letang."
"Gee, Claude, I really don't want to murder anyone. I'm too cute for jail."
"Well, can you at least board him out of stupidity?"
" NOW you're talking my language."
"Good. Now, Jake, this first time that Scuderi hits you..." |

Dead thread so midseason awards!
Hart: Sidney Crosby. He's had a down year but still leads the NHL in points per game and his team is 3 points out of first place even with all the injuries to top players. Also, there's not many great candidates for this at the moment.
Norris: Mark Giordano. Great year offensively so far and his team is in the playoff picture even after being projected to be a lottery team in the preseason.
Vezina: Pekka Rinne. Injured now so will probably lose this award when the time comes but he's been the best goalie to date this year in the NHL. Carey Price is a close second.
Selke Henrik Zetterberg. Hard award to give out but Zetterberg is on one of the top teams in the East and puts up points while facing some of the toughest competition in the NHL. He shuts them down too.
Lady Byng: Patrick Kane. Two penalty minutes in 47 games plus a lot of points.
Calder: Filip Forsberg. Great crop of rookies this year between Forsberg, Johnny Gaudreau and Aaron Ekblad but at this point I have to go with the leading point scorer. Forsberg has 40 points in 45 games and is +24 which will help his case in June.
Adams: Jack Capuano. The Islanders lead the division which has been very rare for them of late. Lavy is a close second and Babcock gets a nod too.
Ultimately, here's how I think the awards will pan out when all is said and done:
Hart: Crosby
Art Ross: Crosby
Richard: Ovechkin
Vezina: Price
Norris: Giordano
Selke: Toews
Byng: Kane
Calder: Forsberg
Adams: Laviolette
Masterton: Jagr
Lindsay: Crosby
Jennings: Crawford/Raanta
Clancy: Hartnell
GM of the Year: Steve Yzerman
Messier: Backes

Can't argue too much. Would give the Adams to Berube and maybe the Hart to Umberger. He needs one. |

One Pittsburgh reporter saying Letang is out indefinitely and another says the report is not true. The pens blogger speculates that the indefinite part may be because they are trying to influence the outcome of the Rinaldo suspension.
I find this ironic because a longer suspension could actually benefit the Flyers. |

But the longer Rinaldo is out, the less practice the PK gets |

I don't see how a longer suspension benefits the Flyers. If he's suspended one or a dozen games, at the end of the suspension if he's inserted back in the lineup it's complete idiocy. The remainder of his contract should be spent with the Phantoms. Just because he was given a ridiculous contract extension, doesn't mean the problem has to be compounded by dressing him for NHL games. |

So what are the guesses for Rinaldo's suspension? My guess is 6 games. Wouldn't mind seeing 10+ though |
