Who the hell is this Michael Hutchinson guy in Winnipeg? His numbers are off the charts. - PLindbergh31
Didn't he used to sing lead for INXS? Thought he was dead.

With all the skate cuts recently, I'd agree. Imagine Kimmo getting a MDZ across the neck.

Exactly.
Even just a stick to the face could be a problem.
However, it's more the risk of internal hemorrhaging that is the eyebrow raiser. |

They know he still has clots in his legs, and Hextall has said they have all the information but need a few days to look at it, as it's from multiple doctors. That tells me that they are exploring how they can let him play. - MJL
I agree, but I also think it's really just delaying the inevitable. |

Yup. Don't hold back on trades, gum and tape D and team next year also under brooby. Have the kids ready for 16-17 and maybe make a significant UFA signing summer of 16 |

Making a pitch of a 1-2 year deal for a guy like Green wouldn't even get a conversation started. - MJL
Yep, probably. But there will be other players in the market. |

Here's my view on trading Streit: While he is still very effective, he is old and has a sizable cap hit. That cap hit could be utilized for adding what the team really needs, a legitimate number one defenseman.
Getting assets for Streit opens up the possibility of flipping those-or some of those-assets for such a defenseman. He's a nice piece to have, but he's not the piece they need, and he'll be 38 next year. Him being as good as he is now for another two years is no sure bet |

How did the one year contract offer to Christian Ehrhoff work out for the Penguins? |

I agree with you 100%. But as we've seen, teams are not willing to make those #1 guys available. Unless you consider guys like Phaneuf #1 guys.
For instance, you could offer a package of equal value for a guy like Doughty, but LA wouldn't do the deal. Their best bet is to draft their own and just be very proactive if one does become available. I just don't see the latter happening. |

If the Flyers can offer to a UFA what the Penguins offered to Ehrhoff, then...well, they don't. |

Yea I don't think the flyers are in the realm of teams who are going to benefit from a huge discount. Also green has no benefit of a lucrative buyout in his back pocket |

We all know what the liklihood of a #1 defenseman becoming available is. Not likely. Certainly not at the trade deadline. So if it happens that one does become available, if they can trade Streit at the deadline, they also should be able to trade him at the draft or during the off season. I disagree that he's not a peice they need, they absolutely need him or an equal player. I don't have any worries about Streit's age. He shows no signs of declining, and he hasn't played a ton of games for a player his age. |

If one does become available, it would be nice to actually have the cap space on hand to make that deal. |
