Zac Rinaldo @RinaldoZac 13m13 minutes ago
I didn't intend to hurt Kris tonight. I'm very sorry I did. At no point did I ever "joke" about such a thing. These reports are untrue.
This clown is an embarrassment. - Jsaquella
Its not his hit that generated momentum, but a successful kill of his 5 minutes major.
He had better had his trap shut |

Manning had a few adventures, but nothing major. He's not an NHL regular, and really probably shouldn't be. But he showed he can adequately fill in and play a semi-regular shift when spotted accordingly. Was solid overall. - jmatchett383
I think he showed last night that he might have some potential as a NHL 6th defenseman. He was certainly better then Colaiacovo. |

the other issue with rinaldo's hit on letang was that it was very late. letang had given up the puck well before zac boarded him.
and really, akeson cant dress in front of rinaldo? i just dont understand the thinking there. - Briere
I think that Akeson needs to play a top-9 (top-6 preferred) role with defensively sound players to be most effective.
However, seeing as Rinaldo was on a line with Simmonds and Raffl...yeah, I don't get it. |

Gotta think its the Pens pick that they'd be willing to deal, but I'd happily offer them Coburn for it! - BiggE
I'd say. Could you imagine the uproar if the Oielrs missed out on Mcdavid? And yes, as much as I like Coburn, I'd pack his bags for that. |

I didn't get that.
And for the love of God, TAKE BRAYDEN SCHENN OFF OF THE TOP LINE! IT IS NOT WORKING! - jmatchett383
If Laughton is healthy the next game's lines will probably be:
Raffl-G-Voracek
Schenn-Laughton-Simmonds
Umberger-Couturier-Read
VdV-Bellemare-Vinny
If he's not, White might get called up and scramble everything. |

"Better than Coliacovo" is not exactly a ringing endorsement.
But yes, he showed he could potentially be a 6, or at least a 6/7 swingman. |

And Rinaldo is currently playing on a scoring line, no? - Tomahawk
It's temporary due to injury. I'd rather see Akeson in that spot.

I could get down with that. If Laughton's not ready, I'd call White up, make Vinny the 2C and put White on the 4th line.
That second line would be a total sink or swim line. |

It's comical how anyone can still try to make a case for Rinaldo being an NHL player. |

Claude, Streit and Simmer need to lead the soap + sock brigade over to Zac's bunk. |

to take this a step or two further kids see what rinaldo, neal, etc do and it absolutely carries down to youth hockey. i realize im taking this to an extreme but these blatant hits from behind, up high, where your trying to injur esomeone MUST be removed from the sport.
go watch a few youth games in the DVHL, NJYHL, or where ever and its so prevelant its actually scary. |

The hit seemed less severe than the one that got Orlov two games last season, but Rinaldo is a repeat offender. The NBC commentators flat out lying and saying it was square in the numbers when you can see Letang's #5 the whole time amused me. - Feanor
ridiculously biased commentary the whole night....."look at how sucderi did this.....farnham was really classy there......greiss did an excellent job......"
i actually thought engblom was going to ask one of the penguins to marry him at some point |

And Akeson was sent back down... so kind of leads to the belief that it's not really about roles. For whatever reason, they like Zac over Akeson, no matter the circumstance. |

Farnham did at least refrain from pummeling PEB when he was standing over him...that's not to say he didn't give him a few jabs when PEB was flat on his back.
And can someone tell me why Farnham didn't get an extra 2 for removing his helmet? |

For those that wonder why the Flyers don't play other teams with that kind of emotion like they do the Pens. The Flyers don't get under the skin of other teams and other teams don't react the same either. The Pens have yet to learn their lesson and keep trying to beat the Flyers at their own game. You aren't going to be the Rags,Wings, Hawks,Blues etc etc etc in that regard. Those teams know they are more talented and use that talent to win. The Pens are a far more talented team than the Flyers but are just too stupid to realize it. |

The Penguins seem really good at totally outplaying the Flyers for about 10 minutes. Then they get frustrated, and it turns into anarchy on ice for the next 45 minutes. Then, if the game is close or they're trailing, they go back to playing hockey for the last 5 minutes. |

In my opinion people are reacting correctly to the hit, in that it was a very bad hit, that could possibly have caused a serious injury, and he put the team in jeopardy. That there have been worse hits in my opinion, really doesn't matter. - MJL
Oh, so you couldn't quote me then. Ok.
In my opinion, people are overreacting to the hit from the standpoint of its severity. However, like I noted in my previous comment, I am not condoning this type of behavior.
