Sucks to lose that game. Pretty happy they went toe to toe with out so many guys. I'm on the Suturd bandwagon. F'n useless.

People are making fun of RW for suggesting Goc can replace Sutter. While I don't necessarily agree, it's not hard to replace a shell of a third line center.

His intensity has vanished. Pre season and the beginning of the season he had a jump to his game. He just looks slower and less interested now.

you cant have a system built on punishing players for the length of a guy's injury. that guy will milk it for every game if the player suspended is good.

here would be my proposal. a 3 strike situation.

Strike 1: Warning given by NHL, 3 game automatic suspension, fine, and loss of pay for those 3 games.

Strike 2: Final Warning given by NHL, 10 game suspension, 1 million reduction in team's salary cap next season (whichever organization the player belongs on next season), and lose of pay for those 10 games.

Strike 3: Suspension for rest of NHL season.

it is a bit harsh, but this kind of garbage needs to stop. flyers players do it, penguins players do it, all teams have guys who do it.

HCDB would have never put Adams on the ice in OT.
- hardnosed

HCDB never would have gotten this game to OT in the first place.

Wtf. Missed the game..

Guess we played decent but 3rd 4th line scoring over our stars...

Needed a W before the break... All the pens should opt out of the all star game....

It has certainly been puzzling recently, but he's been dealt an ugly hand with injuries to key guys. He's still a rookie too.
- madmike71

I understand the injuries, it's the decision making with the cards he's been dealt that leave me confused. If they won a lot I could write it off to my amateur ignorance, but....just but. I'm confused.

Good game tonight - especially without Malkin and Letang (and Hornqvist for that matter).

Perron was a fantastic addition. Loved his talent in STL and EDM and glad he's finally getting an opportunity to show what he's got with worthwhile talent and in a non-losing environment.

Perron has been awesome. He showed off his under rated hands on that missed opportunity in the 3rd and again in OT. Just couldn't finish on those. His work ethic is probably the best on the team along with Hornqvist

I will back Edzo on this game and say MJ has lost it... You pull Crosby off the ice in favor of Sutter with 30 seconds to go? Uggggh I'm just not liking their game of late... They are an easy team to beat... Too easy... No jam... No piss and vinegar
- nelson911

Meh... No Malkin, Letang, Hornqvist, Despres. They win that game....maybe easily if two of the 4 played. Really was a 50/50 game missing so many guys. I can't judge the team missing players like that. Same with the Philly game.

That's actually pretty funny, considering he has been known to have a little bit of an attitude problem (or so the rumors were). Maybe it's the fact that he's motivated to succeed and this is probably the best shot he'll get being centered by one of the best players in the league.

I didn't hear about that, but from how he played up until his injury, he has looked like the pens best player. Meshed great with Sid and added that spark that perron is bringing now. A perron-sid-horn line has potential to be the best line in the NHL.

I saw a couple ppl put up their offers for kassian. Maybe dumolin n a third orfuture second if he were to sign.lol. Not sure his contract. The mataa injury sucks on so many levels n takes away a lot ofoptions n questions about the mans health moving forward. But downie n kassian would b the bash brothers. Couple former spitfires
- Jordy8

Kassian doesnt really play that physical, thats the reason the Canucks are down on him.
Personally I think Dumoulin or Harrington straight up would get it done.

It's more of a criticism of previous games... Tonight they were alright... I just see a pattern forming that isn't good.

You play on a team that has been utter poop for a few years and see how happy you are to be there... and have insanely happy you are to go to a sure fire playoff team.

I think that a winning culture goes a long way in situations like these. No player puts himself above the good of the team. Hornqvist was a guy I targeted in fantasy hockey this season, knowing that with his ability to score, combed with the fact that he's going from the worst offenses in the NHL to one of the best, he was due for a breakout.

Which is why I felt bad for James Neal. Complete opposite situations. Though I'm sure he's doing just fine given the team's drastic turnaround this season.

Yea I picked up horn early. He gave me everything from points to hits. I tried trading for perron after he was traded, but the guy wanted too much

I know what you're saying. I agree there are some eye raising issues. I don't like how they've been miserable in the puck management department.

Still... If we ever get some of these guys back, I think most of that will change. Forgot about Comeau.....guy was a big part of their early success.

I'll agree with you on the outcome with the injuries on hand, but the decision making is poor. He should be playing to the Pens strengths and he's not. That's my problem with him.

1st, 3rd, and 4th lines had good nights. I was super impressed with that Arcobello, Goc, Downie line. That 2nd line was atrocious. Sutter and Bennett seem to have lost the chemistry they exhibited at the beginning of the season and Spaling is, well, Spaling, pretty good in most aspects of the game, but is so inept at scoring it's ridiculous.

Really don't understand the fear of matching Crosby up with Toews. Toews, Hossa, and Kane were on the ice practically that entire overtime, because they are Chicago's best players and when the game is on the line you play your best players, not guys like Spaling and Arcobello, and then Sutter for 3/5 of the overtime.

I can't argue with that. Especially in these last two games. It hasn't been season long, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.....for now. One thing I can say for certain.... I am no where close to missing Dan Bylsma.

He seemed to get that rap in St. Louis for some reason. There was none of that in Edmonton. I live in the Edmonton area and there was nothing negative said about Perron. That said the most attitude he showed was when he called the Oilers out for being jokes about a month before he was traded to Pittsburgh.

It's just a ploy to make sure Zac Rinaldo never earns another dollar in the NHL. Okay maybe I'm dreaming.

Pouliot and Perron were our two best players tonight. Pouliot, in particular, looks like hes in a different class than Harrington. A few gaffes but was playing decent minutes against one of the leagues best teams. Little bit of physicality, some decent threats to score, defending 1 on 1 was mostly good, and still has that crazy threshold for never panicing with the puck.

Sutter has been playing like a turd. I hope he's hurt or something because he's been giving a dogpoop effort.

It's unfortunate, but we all knew it was coming. He is either one of the most fragile players in this league, or one of the most unlucky. He is always due for a trip to LTIR. Rinaldo deserves to have his ACL severed. He brings nothing to the table as far as true talent.
