For the record i am not here to troll. I respect what Ryan Wilson writes and like to beleive i am a pretty well informed hockey fan who happens to live in Western PA. But with that said, you pens fans need to let the 1975 thing go. Its not like the penguins won the cup last year or the year before or the year before that even. Yes the penguins are the superior team right now but 1975 is losing its gusto every year the penguins take an early exit to the playoffs. And while we are on the 1975 topic....it has been 40 years since a cup win and not once did you hear about the flyers moving to Kansas city did you? Now the penguins, hell they won a cup in 92 and were days away from folding until Mario saved them....they have their share of die hard fans no denying it, but man where was all this support through the rough years? - did109
Why let it go when it makes you guys mad... why do the flyers fan come on our board and write things like sissy crysby, or post photshop pics of sid whit a pacifer?

I actually loved the Scuds/Voracek fight. Scuds lined his ass up. Voracek attacked him. Was off his game all night. Pens need to keep doing that to their players. |

BORING.... BLAH BLAH BLAH....
Not mad at all here dude. Deep down, your team did us a favor. Our GM was in attendance and, hopefully, saw firsthand that the Pens team needs to get tougher and bigger. And I'm not talking useless Rinaldo tough. I'm talking getting heavier, bigger players who can actually play.
Enjoy your win last night. Well earned. Your team came into the game with an agenda and executed it perfectly.
Its on the Pens now to respond. They either do or don't. - 87_71_11_29
Thats exactly why you guys have struggled in the playoffs. Need more grit on the team and you guys could go far. |

To be honest, because theres a large group of flyers fans who are complete morons. Dont get me wrong i CANT STAND crosby, borderline hatred for the guy, but i am intelligent enough to acknowledge he is the best hockey player in the world. But in all fairness i attend my fair share of Phi/Pit games in Pittsburgh and there is a large group of Penguins fans who are just as bad. |

That was a bad hit. Perhaps not as grotesque or filthy as some that we've seen, but certainly a bad one.
The fact that it's Rinaldo, and the utter lack of remorse afterwords is almost equally concerning, for me. |

Leave it to the Pens to start crying over a player being injured. Yet your team has been a culprit of dirty head shots for years now. Cry me a river. YOU MAD BRO?? - GOA88
Yes, I feel your players took liberties against ours for the sole reason of taking someone out. Its petty and pathetic. I amad because a great player was injured by a useless scrub
No one here is claiming to be clean in their history, but what we do want is this to end so good hockey could still be good hockey. We don't want to end hits, just blatant cheap shots.
If your argument to stop us from discussing a future without scrubs like Rinaldo is we once employees a scrub, then you have too weak of a thought process to figure out the heart of the discussion.

It's not about who fought, I would have loved to see Bortz jump Giroux and pound him before he even has a chance to fight back. - znagle
So that would be ok but if Rinaldo beat the piss out of Crosby you pens fans would call to have him kicked out of the league. Bottom line is Flyers won 3-2 in the game and 3-1 in the fight card. Btw it would not have made a difference if Scuderi got his gloves off or not. The turtle technique is a hard way to win a fight |

And theres a good look at it. That fight took Voracek off the ice for over 17 minutes! I think it was a boost to the flyers but certainly not the player you want to see losing ice time for fighting. |

Pens fans need to stop complaining about games like this. If the team wasn't so damn soft and the crap the flyers pull didn't work, they wouldn't do it. |

I was saying that because of the garbage the Flyers continually did the whole night. I guarantee if Giroux was jumped the way Scuderi was then you all would be female doging and moaning. Would you still love the game if we were the cheap team with back shots and flying elbows to the head every time we'd play? Probably not. Sid can handle himself, he hasn't lost a fight in the NHL. |

Agree 100%. Players like Rinaldo and downie have no buisness in the league. - Cptmjl
Rinaldo is a filthy scumbag that doesnt belong or deserve to be in the nhl. But player safety will give him some crap 2 game suspension...lesson learned... |

Maybe I am alone in this, but I was a bit disappointed with the way our stars responded last night. Lost the previous 2 games to NY teams without showing up, and get bludgeoned by Philly. That is the type of game where a few years ago Crosby would've at least rag-dolled somebody on the other team(ala Niskanen). Regardless of the potential for injury, would've loved to see Malkin or Crosby say enough is enough, grab Giroux and just start swinging. Even 66 had his moments where it was time to say "not gonna take it anymore" and lead by example. |

No, it really doesn't. When looking at the grand scheme of things the season series champion will be at home when the playoffs start. So... |

The instigator rule took deterrence out of the picture a long time ago, and the NHL is never going back on that.
The other issues about NHL Player Safety and discipline are the utter lack of consistency, make-good calls, etc.
Corey Perry is a great hockey player. He's also dirty as a day is long. Same can be said of Niklas Kronwall. You can't have it both ways. Discipline needs to be meted out equally regardless of the player's name or sweater, or how powerful their owner is on the Board of Governors or how prominently the league markets said player. |
