Typical Browns. Last Fall they had 2 promising qb's, a winning team, seemingly the stud coach they've lacked and 2 first round picks coming. Then Hoyer sucks, Manziel sucks and is a tool, the Bills screwed them as hard as they could on that pick and Josh Gordon is toast.

To add insult to injury, they get Lebron back and the Cavs still suck.

I thought it was probably a mistake to tune into the all-star game, and then I listened to that version of the national anthem.




I can't see how anybody is gonna recover from that.

wish I could tell you, you are wrong but you're not. I had hopes for him a couple of years back. He looks too content to watch an all-star game from the seats. And doesn't seem to have the burning desire to be great.

Since then he has put up third line numbers and if that is what we expect from him, he will be fine moving forward.

I agree with the first part, it did give him a lot of attention. and because it happened at the end of the season, fans had an entire offseason for expectations to escalate. But way too often he seems invisible to me.
When he is going well and scoring, he's banging bodies, digging in corners and driving to the net. When he is not going well, he's not doing any of those things. I could easily stomach the scoring droughts if he always made life miserable for opposing forwards, especially as a third liner. But I don't see that from him enough.

Agreed. 23 is still quite young. But if motivation is a problem, he will see himself passed by a crop of young players more hungry for his spot. It's not a bad problem to have, not HAVING to count on him becoming a better player than he is capable of being.

I don't think motivation is the issue. I think staying healthy is. He's had a hard time playing the style game he likes to play without ending up in the pressbox with some sort of injury. Last season he played through a shoulder injury, but it's hard to be a power forward when your shoulder is messed up.

Let's not also forget that it's taken quite a while for his brother Nick to put together the season he's having this year, so it's not like it's impossible for Marcus to do it at some point.
