He's only 23
And a lot of these young players will look better as we add more talent around them

That's what i'm thinking .

I'm not saying Foligno will ever be an allstar, but I don't see why he can't become a useful player still.
I remember an interview with Steve Ott where he said he didn't really figure out how to be a professional until he was 500 games in.
Let's not pull the plug on these guys just yet.

Truer words have never been typed. It's everybody else fighting for second place. Gretzky's scoring records and DiMaggio's hitting streak are in greater danger of being broken, than CL's national anthem being topped.

I'm not pulling plugs and would disagree with seeing him moved for what we could realistically expect in return for him. I was trying to be careful in my wording, emphasizing what I have seen from Marcus recently. Goose makes good points about injury history and how long brother Nick took to get where he is presently.
This was just started when all-star game cameras caught him and his dad in the stands.
But if his injuries are chronic and production levels stagnate, then I would be shocked if he is given 500 games by the Sabres to figure out how to be a professional.

This game sucks . Not a place for Girgensons to showcase his talents.

I think we need a little more patience with the kid . He may never be an all star , but if he can overcome his injury bug . He can be a great third line grinder.

Ive seen Murray quoted as saying he likes Foligno
He will be here for a few more years unless he ends up in a package to get another player Murray targets
It's gonna take longer than some think for much of our young talent to be integrated into the lineup

I'm not rushing to anything, that;s the problem with players on this team, everyone thinks because they are young they will be stars. We have to many 3rd line players on this team, to many Foligno's and Kaleta's.

Foligno explains it enough, he's here because of his name.

I think that's a realistic expectation for him
Our third line in a year or two could look something like
Foligno-Girgensons-Ennis
That's pretty decent
And if he eventually gets passed by guys like Bailey, Compher, etc then that just means we're increasing the amount of talent in the lineup

I don't think motivation is the issue. I think staying healthy is. He's had a hard time playing the style game he likes to play without ending up in the pressbox with some sort of injury. Last season he played through a shoulder injury, but it's hard to be a power forward when your shoulder is messed up.

Let's not also forget that it's taken quite a while for his brother Nick to put together the season he's having this year, so it's not like it's impossible for Marcus to do it at some point.

We'll it's gonna take a fees years to develop guys like Baptiste, Fasching, etc
In the meantime, I think we'll see what Foligno can become
If all he can be is a 3rd line grinder, then he'll likely eventually get passed by young talent we have coming up
Teams do need players like that though
We gave up on Paille BC he was a 1st round pick & more was expected of him
He went to Boston and became a fantastic role player on a very good team

So.............. you have Ennis on the 3rd line ? really ? so do you think the savior Armia will be on the 1st line? the guy that keeps getting past over to be called up, except for 1 time. I'm not a Ennis fan but he's far from a 3rd line player.

Would be nice to have a 20 yr old that scores 30 goals.

Foligno from what I was told a month or so ago, was suppose to be the next Lucic, Clarkson, Stewart type player. A power forward that should score goals and he isn't, tells you why Stewart is still here ( don't know for how much longer ) I'm not saying Foligno is Lucic but he's just 1 example.

Was referring to other players on the team or in the farm. We might have one in Reinhart . He seems like the only one with that high of potential. As of now.

That's the problem we need more players that can score, we have to many 3rd or 4th line guys.

It wouldn't shock me if Murray starts moving some of the " Darcy players" this deadline and in the offseason.

Injured or not he gets passed up way to much for all the hype around him.
