Even if he got lucky, his track record Is a lot better than Nolan's.

I just find it tough to believe Nolan will be here past next season at the latest

We can do better then Hitchcock and i'm sure if they let Nolan go, they will.

That's fine but if we don't see any actual progress by mid next year I would think he is gone and that Murray wouldn't hesitate to can him.

It also depends what the roster looks like. If they get McDavid will they keep him up for 9 games then send him back? He's just barely 18. If they get Eichel he probably stays as he's playing against bigger guys now.

I think Nolan is here 1 more season . Then Terry gives him a golden parachute. Those screaming for his head now . Just don't want to realize the end game here. He is here to motivate very mediocre talent on the whole . He has had a very positive effect on Myers , Girgensons and Ennis . Who will all be here going forward. No need to rush out and get the coach of the future yet . We are not making the playoffs next year either.

I'm sure the NHL will find a way to screw us out of either player, or the Sabres do it themselves.

I don't know about Myers, he's not on the block so Murray says but the offers are coming in.

If we end up in 30th, there's nothing they can do. Now we need the Oilers to beat us in the upcoming game.

That wasn't behind closed doors, he could have went in another direction but he didn't.

He knew Nolan couldn't get this sorry bunch to win, so yeah, he had "his guy"

Why would Murray bring in his real target when he knew this team would blow? When the time is right, TM will bring in his real guy.

If he gets an offer that blows the socks of him . Myers is gone. Otherwise it would be stupid to trade him . Why would he . He needs the salary to make the floor. And you can't teach size with that skating ability . I know he does not punch enough people in the face but his defensive zone play has been excellent . I also think now that he has that aspect of his game down you will start to see other areas improve as well.

I don't think there is a chance in hell McDavid doesn't play in the NHL next year, whether that is with us or someone else.

I feel bad for Ennis. He's one player that gets it. It's like he's on the ice by himself with no support whatsoever.

With Murray being on the job just over a year; a fair amount of time for player evaluations, I expect this trade deadline and offseason to be full of moves to shape the team as he envisions it.
And even if he can't find willing partners to trade with, sitting tight and letting our multitude of prospects grow and develop isn't bad either. There will come a time when there's a logjam of like-aged youngsters on the cusp of the nhl, but it's still a little ways off. a nice spot to be in.

Can't wait another 4-5 more years for things to change, the wait should be coming to an end.

Canadian dollar has dropped another 10c since the NHL did their last cap projection for next year. If the Canadian dollar keeps getting smoked, which it most likely will, there are going to be more than a couple teams in a very tough spot. Hopefully we can make a few deals with those picks to bring in some good NHL players.

We need a top line scorer and if Myers brings that, i'm fine with moving him.

Murray did an interview recently where he said there's no reason for them to trade Myers. For everyone that likes to claim that Myers isn't physical enough, Murray said he liked the physical type of game he plays. I was looking to see if I could find a link to it somewhere, but couldn't. I think it was during intermission of a game recently. It was the same interview where he said the he has not made any calls regarding Myers, but has received a few.

People call him on Myers, he calls nobody about him. Like i said before Murray gives alot of dial tones. Hard to trade Myers but I would for a young goal scorer.

I don't feel like that's helping the team at all though. Now you're taking a good, young player and flipping him for a different good, young player. It's spinning your wheels. Not to mention that by moving Myers, you've now lost a decent amount of game experience off your blueline. The young defense gets even younger. I think he's finally been able to put it all together and it would be a mistake to move him unless you're getting an absolute stud back in return.

I think Myers is a good player with his size, skill and speed but he's played like an average player. I know people won't agree with that.

Yes. And we have an array of sweeteners to help make it happen. Short of that, I'm fine keeping him.

When you put together his entire career, I agree. But I think his game is still trending up. Like I said, it seems like he's really figured it out finally and will still get better as he gets more comfortable. Plus if he gets a bit more talent around him, that will help too.

I'm not opposed to trading him, but like Murray, I need my socks knocked off to do it. Otherwise, I'm just fine with keeping him here.

I understand people like Myers and put him on the top of the mountain but he still hasn't turned that corner as of yet. He should have started to already.
