When you put together his entire career, I agree. But I think his game is still trending up. Like I said, it seems like he's really figured it out finally and will still get better as he gets more comfortable. Plus if he gets a bit more talent around him, that will help too.

I'm not opposed to trading him, but like Murray, I need my socks knocked off to do it. Otherwise, I'm just fine with keeping him here.

I feel bad for him. Seemed like a fish out of water while he was there.

Seemed like he wanted to play instead of just coasting around .

At least he was only a -1. Kessel was a -4.

Kopitar did not even register a shot on goal.

So.............. you have Ennis on the 3rd line ? really ? so do you think the savior Armia will be on the 1st line? the guy that keeps getting past over to be called up, except for 1 time. I'm not a Ennis fan but he's far from a 3rd line player.
- SABRES 89

Well Girgensons & Ennis clearly play well together
McDavid centers line one, Reinhart line two, Girgensons line three
Although I think you're getting WAY too caught up on the numbering... All three of those lines will get pretty equal playing time
Also...
When putting lines together, most coaches spread the talent out a little bit
Is Malkin a "2nd line" guy?
Is perron better than him bc he technically plays on line one?

Seemed like he was trying to strike a balance between proving he belonged, but having respect for the process and the incredible talents around him. That's what will help make Zemgus great. He gets it.

Anyone remember when Luke Adam went and he acted all arrogant?

Foligno from what I was told a month or so ago, was suppose to be the next Lucic, Clarkson, Stewart type player. A power forward that should score goals and he isn't, tells you why Stewart is still here ( don't know for how much longer ) I'm not saying Foligno is Lucic but he's just 1 example.
- SABRES 89

Does foligno have to be "lucic" to be a decent NHLer though?
Anyone expecting that, especially at 23, is asking for way too much.

Yes, in order to be a Sabre you must punch people in the face

Murray wants or wanted a power forward , that's what they want from Foligno and haven't seen it. They have from Stewart but who's to say if he stays or goes. I'm hoping he moves Stafford.

To be fair, Chris Stewart is just as inconsistent as Foligno.

As soon as this team has better talent on it, no one will cry (not you, broads) about players like Foligno, Stewart, etc. when they are on the 3rd and 4th lines where they belong.

I think that depends. I don't think they will be expected to score, but if they aren't playing a disruptive, physical game they will be noticed.

Foligno is like many of the Sabre players that seem to be night and day from game to game. One game he has 5 hits and a fight, the next he's trying to dangle through the other team and turning it over.

I would bet he has to settle for a pick for Stewart at the last minute so to speak, do to his asking price is high, according to the media.

That's exactly my point. He won't think he has to dangle.

I think the roles will be more cut and dried.

I think Myers is a good player with his size, skill and speed but he's played like an average player. I know people won't agree with that.
- SABRES 89

I think he is far above average at this point. Just surrounded by a lot of below average players . This really hurts him on his outlets as there is a real lack of support from his forwards on the outlet passes and turnovers occur. His defensive zone play is great . Watch his play away from the puck and positioning . He is doing excellent job denying opposition teams best players real good scoring opportunities. At the start of the year I thought Gorges was making him look good . But it has become obvious it is him making his defensive partners look much better.

Yea I'm hoping too. I like Foligno, sometimes I question whether he knows what type of player he is.

As we get more talent , I believe he will become a third line grinder that can still pot you 15 goals a year along with knocking the other team around.. If Deslauriers continues to improve . Foligno - Girgensons- Deslauriers would be a great 3rd line.

I know what you're saying
I think with time Foligno will be a decent player
I think expectations are a little too high for him though. I also think he has time to improve his consistency...
And goose made a good point earlier, its hard to play all rough n tough when you're playing with nagging injuries like he has been
