If you look in the comment section someone states he's wearing a carbide wedding ring and he hits it in a vulnerable place. Also it seems as though that section might have been on it's last legs as he doesn't seem to hit it that hard. Not surprised he broke it.

While I understand the ref may or may not have been doing his/her job very well, that's what the coach is for. Have a chat with the coach about it, hell the coach had more than likely already said something.

It is no excuse for what he did. Parents need to learn that it is a game and about the kids having fun.

On a semi-related note, the Sharks are moving their AHL team to San Jose. Which means I'll get to go see the Amerks when they roll through. It will almost be like driving to Rochester from Buffalo! Psyched!

I've seen glass get broken by weaker hits before. Sometimes it's all about where and how you hit it...

That being said parents hit the glass all the time. Most of it is comical to refs. Some of the things I have seen reffing high school games is much worse. I have cleared out the entire viewing section before at a game being played at Riverside for parents fighting each other.

A lot of these parents cause more of an issue on the ice than the players. A bad hit might happen but how these parents react cause their kids to react in a negative way and its how games get out of hand.

Really weird for west coast teams that have to call a guy up and either fly him on a red eye or wait a day for him to get to the team.
Sabres made a good move Buying Rochester outright.
They can make a callup an hour or two before the game and the player can be on the ice. At home, obviously.
