I was under the influence of the blue kool-aide. I wouldn't toot your horn too loudly.
Besides, I caught a game in Buffalo last year vs Tampa, and saw what real hockey looked like, so I've disbanded from the Leafs.

Didn't realize the Arizona Coyote's blogger on hockeybuzz was the apex of film criticism either. My bad. - dadeadhead
I never said that. My opinions are just my opinions, certainly I don't purport to suggest they are the defining word on any subject..........my only point was that to respond to criticism by saying "it won an Oscar" is pretty bad.
For example, according to the Oscars, the best movies are Titanic, Lord of the Rings 3, Every movie Clint Eastwood directs, Precious, Forrest Gump, Who Wants to Be an Indian Millionaire and Avatar, the Piano, the English Patient, Sling Blade etc.
Or essentially everything I hate.
When there is an award show that gives out awards to Paul Verhoeven, Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Shane Black, Super Hero movies, and Vince Vaughn, I will get on board..........so basically, I am like every other person who thinks that if the things they don't like aren't given awards, awards are useless.
But the Oscars still suck. |

I agree, I sometimes flip to their games when I watch the games live (unfortunately I usually tape-delay everything) and they are always good. Victor Hedman is one of my favorites to watch. |

Can we legally talk about her? Let me know how old she is, for now, I've never heard of her. |

I said nothing about them winning awards. Go back and re-read.
Just said they always seem to be up for an award. |

We must not have the same definition of "too tall".
But agree with the features. Or those stupid hips. |

Sure. That's very tall. Not "too" tall. 6'5", now that might be too tall, although I've never seen a woman that size, so I can't be sure it is. |

I've never tried to define a person based on tastes, hell, I'm a Leaf fan so I try to not judge others..
But to recap, you think Clint Eastwood sucks, Slingblade and Forset Gump are poopty movies, and you get a chubby over Vince Vaughn?
This really sheds light on what kind of person you are. |

Well, the game I saw went into OT, a 4-3 final for the Bolts. I was in a Sabres jersey, and jumped outta my seat when Stamkos scored the winner. We were 3 rows up from the glass in the sabres end, and I imagine I looked like an idiot celebrating a Lightning goal in Sabres threads.
But what really sunk in was I paid 120 bucks for 2 seats, 3 rows from ice level, and got to see some great hockey. And it was great from both teams, the hustle, the heart, the display.
I'm really leaning on being a Sabres fan now, because they are almost as close to me as Toronto and Detroit, but by far the cheapest, and easiest to drive down to watch. Besides, my favorite Knights player, Zadorov , plays for them too... |

Yeah, it does: a man with impeccable taste and a hatred for crappy movies made to appeal to the sentimental streak of the general public and passed off as art by corporations, as well as a reasonably smart person who hates easy-answer films that pander to the lowest common denominator in an attempt to seem profound. Forrest Gump is a movie I liked when I was a teenager. As an adult, I find it to be a populist piece of crap that insults my intelligence thoroughly and repeatedly and to it's very core.
Forrest Gump is on a level of artistic integrity with Pitbull, and honestly, that probably isn't fair to Pitbull. CULO! |

You're just a bitter angry dude. And that is on you, not Tom Hanks. If you can't appreciate the simplicity of the movie, and how warm it is, then you're just over thinking it. I think you try to come off as someone of such elite taste sometimes, and it's kinda depressing really.
As I said, you mentioned Vince Vaughn. |

My favorite movies are Back to the Future and Lethal Weapon and my favorite actor is Vince Vaughn and you are accusing me of having "elite taste" because I find the message of Forrest Gump offensive?
It depresses me that people think its such a good movie. Honestly, if you view it as an entertaining action movie, it's pretty entertaining and professionally made. But the movie is so saccharine and sentimental and its message of conformity is the worst.
Ironically, it could be said that by coming down on me for having an opinion contrary to the masses, you are literally "Forrest-Gumping" me. |

Also, quick question, when was the last time anyone who was "bitter and angry" ever quoted Pitbull? |

That is good to hear, my pops also got me into Warren Zevon - when I was a kid they used to play Werewolves of London on the radio and he said it was his worst song, then when I was a little older I found a copy in a used record store , remembered he said that and bought it. I play it all the time. |

Now James if you see people wearing team jerseys other than the All star numbers at the game will you get angry?
Forest Gump was an enjoyable movie not sure if you watched it many times the enjoyment would be the same? What's your take on the Usual Suspects? I think Braveheart won a few statues now are you calling that out? Not sure about Mel - how is he perceived by regular joe/jim over there?
Why don't they play a full on country of origin game Canada V USA every year best of 3? That would sell some hot dogs. |
