Expansion = expansion draft... can't wait! - Tomahawk
Maybe that's how we get rid of Lecavalier and Umberger: put them up for the expansion draft. |

The Dodgers have some nice prospects: Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Julio Urias, Grant Holmes. As do the Cubs: Kris Bryant (pipe dream to get him though), Addison Russell, Jorge Soler, Kyle Schwarber. I don't think the Yankees will be contending this year. Padres and Red Sox have some guys I'd like too. - NickTheKid87
I like Cubs. If Padres were interested you would have to atleast get Myers as part of it. |

Red Sox have Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, Blake Swihart.... And some pretty good young arms. I think that is his most likely landing spot. Sox don't have anything resembling a top of the rotation guy. |

Why was foligno selected as one of the all star captains? Just seems weird. No argument with toews or Someone like getzlaf or doughty would seem more logical? |

Kind of like this years (and prob next years) Flyers right? - Just5
Might be. But baseball has so many minor leagues guys are everywhere. With the AHL if the Flyers are out of the hunt but the Phantoms are still in a playoff race i don't think they would take guys away from that team. They would want them playing in those intense situations. That would be my thoughts. |

Probably because it is in Colombus and he is having a good year. |

I guess the question is, how much do you really think Homer knows about business? Is he doing ticket sales? Packaging Santa Sacks? Overseeing the marketing group? Accounting? IT? Food? Promotions? Mites on ice appearances?
He knows a lot about the game of hockey, but that doesn't necessarily translate to knowledge of the business side of things just like me liking to eat ice cream doesn't mean I could run a parlor. And one of the responsibilities he was stripped of was one of the more important ones for the Flyers: money and asset management. - wolfhounds
I don't know if he is qualified for the position, anymore then you don't know if he is. I just disagree that he's just sitting in his office as a figure head waiting for the phone ot ring. I'm sure there is a transisiton involved from the hockey side to the business side.
Holmgren wasn't stripped of anything. I think the decision to step down as GM was as much Holmgren's decision as it was anyones. Flyers had an assistant GM, Barry Hanrahan that ran the cap side of things. |

I guess that makes sense. Just not one of the elite players. |

My question woould be like this.
If Hextall wants something and Holmgren doesn't who wins?
If Chip wants something and Roseman doesn't, who wins?
Holmgren and Roseman are both technically higher in the hiearchy based on titles. - J35Bacher
Not true. Kelly has full control of Football Operations. |

Yeah, he's a Blue Jacket....the game is being played in Columbus. Makes sense, actually.
They didn't always do it that way, as I recall. |

somewhere around there. I think his house has a moat and you can use a paddle boat in it. |

They probably can't afford him. With the type of budget they have and that POS stadium. Word is they are looking at a new setup for bullpen phones.

If the Phils move Ryan they are eating a crap ton of money. That part's a done deal. |

How funny would it be if a gator found its way into it.

Red Sox seem most likely to me as well but wouldn't be surprised if the Dodgers went hard after him. With Kershaw and Hamels and the top of the rotation, they could almost smell the World Series. |

Ryan Johansen just won the breakaway challenge thing after being a relatively distance third behind Gaudreau and Giroux until about 15 minutes until the voting ended. What's the point of voting if you're just going to rig it? I would want Johansen in it anyway for the hometown fans but still. |
