He's not done at 29. His contract makes him done.

You simply can't have a player performing like he has been at such a high cap hit. If Richards had say 3X3 left on his contract he's probably traded for something decent because of his name/pedigree.

People said that big long term contracts bite teams in the ass, look at brad Richards.

Mike Richards is still an NHL quality player, he is not a 5.75 million dollar player though, and that's why he is on waivers.

if Schultz is reasonable with his demands I still think he can be a valuable piece going forward.

but if the rumours are true, asking for around 6+ long term after seeing the obvious deficiencies he has? not to mention the reasonable salaries of some of the younger defenders in the league have signed that are far better than he is.
