Someone's offering a. 2nd for Streit, no thanks. But, if the offer is a 1st or better, the deal needs to be made. - BiggE
streit should get us no less than a 1st he's near the top in points for dmen |

It's going to take patience. They are going to be bad for a while, but they have the chance of building a team with sustained success.
I trust Hinkie so much more than any other GM in the city to make a smart move. He's made a ton of trades and hasn't lost one. He's even done a great job drafting. - PhillySportsGuy
Yeah i have no problem with being patient and i trust him as well. He actually has a set plan and it's worked out so far and should turn out even better in the future. |

yeah. again i really like this. i can turn on a random nba game on espn and actually enjoy myself for a little bit again.
there was a good stretch of years where it was either repeated iso plays, poor 3 pointers thrown up with 19 seconds on the shot clock, absolutely no ball movement.
its slowly starting to draw me back. because i still think basketball itself is a gorgeous game. - stayinthefnnet
Thats why the Cavs aren't that good this year. They haven't adapted and still just run a bunch of iso plays. Their ball movement is terrible and their defense is even worse.
Watching teams like the Hawks, Warriors, Spurs and Suns is a pleasure. |

Billwould you move streit at the deadline? imo his value will never be higher. Now i dont give him away. He is the one assest I think can bring some very good players/picks back.
What do you think he would bring back in a trade? - rinaldo
No, I don't move Streit. Apart from the points he brings on the power play, he brings some leadership and stability. Even with the club needing retooling, I don't move him unless another team dazzles with an offer. You still need vets to oversee the transition plus the Flyers power play would nosedive with any other their other point options (Ghost isn't ready for that responsibility yet at the NHL level).

Average at most but has been improving. He has good hands. - bmeltzer
Thanks Bill,
I haven't had the time this year to watch any of the Phantoms games this year but I remember there being some hype surrounding this kid when he was originally signed. I'm always happy to hear that a player is improving in a certain area. To me that is more important in the AHL than actual stats. |

Exactly. Both Cousins and Straka are better all-around hockey players 1 1/2 seasons into their careers than they were when they began in the fall of 2013. Still have a ways to go but making progress.

I'd go same exact order for coaches, For player personal Kelly and Hexy are debatable for 2 or 3 just bc Kelly was just named that position and Hexy hasn't had a real chance to make adjustments. But still trust both of them a lot. not sure how RAJ has his job still |

I feel the NBA is entering a bit of a golden era for talent around the league. There are so many teams with such deep rotations. 10 years ago, every team had one star and a bunch of roll players.
The 2001 Sixers wouldn't even make the playoffs in the west right now - PhillySportsGuy
I grew up watching the NBA in the 80's that was a golden era. The NBA game today in my opinion is pretty much unwatchable and is really a disgrace to the game and the legacy of the League. IMO |

I, too, was torn on Hexy and Kelly. By the end of July, we will have a more definitive answer |

They're all just very young. It would be like putting together a blue line of Ghost, Alt, Sanheim, Morin, Hagg and Grossmann. They would be terrible, but we'd still be excited about the future and we'd be happy to get a top pick in a good draft this season.
I don't want to go on too long and breakdown every player, but they do have some nice pieces. They are a (frank)ing mess offensively. By far, the worst offensive team in the league. They are already a good defensive team with room to grow. Noel is one of the 10 best defensive big men in the game already.
Embiid will be good if he's healthy and Saric just won the award for being the best young player in Europe. It's a fairly prestigious award and guys who have won it usually go on to become good NBA players.
NBA development is a long and arduous process. They will be bad for at least 2 more years after this. They've set themselves up with a ton of talent though. They continue to stockpile overseas talent and draft picks so they can continue to add pieces even when they become better. They have enough cap space to sign any two players in the league too. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm sorry, but this sound more like the Oilers as opposed to the Penguins or Blackhawks. |

You said earlier you haven't even watched it this year. How can you make the judgment without watching it?
I just said the game is going through a change and becoming more team oriented. |

Also about how much you can posterize the guy defending you, taking 4 steps to dunk, being a thug, and palming the ball 100% of the time you're dribbling up court.
Give me the early 90s with Jordan and company any day. Nowadays, who wants to learn to shoot a 3-pointer when you can just dunk and get on SportsCenter? |

I turn the game on to try and watch it, and I last about 2 minutes. Even with the good teams in the playoffs. It's awful in my opinion. |

The Oilers were gifted 3 #1 picks. Hinkie has had the 11th overall pick and the 3rd overall pick. He made trades for others. |
