Yeah, retain some salary and/or take a contract back in return -- I think that's the only way any of our guys w/ term get moved at this TDL.

I'd be more than happy to do that in order to load up on as many top-60 picks as possible in the next two drafts.

Agreed. It's something the Sixers have done a good job of. They exploit teams with no cap space or teams over the luxury tax looking to save money. They've been able to accumulate at least 5 second round picks just by taking unwanted players.

Don't need to define a lot. Just know that players continue to play at a high level into their late 30's on a frequent basis. There is no guarantee that because Streit is 37, he's going to severely decline in the next few seasons. I also take issue with the point that his value iwon't be any higher then it is now. He has term left on his deal that is going to limit his value in a trade, and limit interest. If he continues to play at a high level in future years, with having less term, his value and interest could peak higher.

I don't need to back up what I say, I just know it.

OK.

What's the value of a 2nd round pick in the NBA?

No, not really if you took the time and really read the entire thought process.

I opined... "Sell high. His stock probably won't be any higher now so it'd be a great time for Hexy to entertain any offers that cross his desk".

That goes without saying and wasn't anything you or anyone else hasn't already stated many times previously or has ever disagreed with.

However, the discussion turned a bit with the comment that there have been players who have played well in their upper 30's and a drop off in Streit's production wasn't expected. That, and only that, point is what I was commenting on. Not on what you and your buddy were proudly preaching.

If you choose to re-read closer, you'd see there is nothing in my post about dumping him.

Yes...that's why I bolded the specific part I was referencing. He may or may not continue to put up offensive numbers, I don't know. But I do know the neither MJL or myself have said to not move him for a good return, as opposed to the "move him for the bets offer you can get" crowd.

But in the NBA, can't you basically just cut players? I know they traded for 2 guys, and then just cut them immediately.

More like the ashes of his old Cavs jerseys that everyone immediately regretted when he came back. At least he won titles in the Heat jersey

hahahahahaa that honestly cracks me up. Everyone is cheering him on for 700 wins (which would have been cool), he plays what? 5,6, 7 games? Retires in the BLUES front office. Not even with New Jersey who he played over 1000 games for lmao what a slap in the face to New Jersey

KJ McDaniels is viewed as one of the 5 best rookies this season

Jerami Grant is viewed as one of the 10 best rookies this season

Jordan McRae is the 2nd leading scorer in the Australian Basketball League and has a future in the NBA.

There other 2nd round pick from last year is playing in Europe and I don't know much about him.

The NBA is evolving now because of advanced stats. It's not all about getting 3 superstars together. It's about forming strong depth too. These 2nd rounders may never be All Stars, but they all look like starters or really good depth players moving forward.

Actually, there's a thought.

Could the Kings package Richards with a high pick, a la what PSG was saying? Maybe Richards and 2 2nd rounders to Buffalo for some dude (i.e. Mike Weber)?

He was a very loyal NJ player. He could've left for much more money a couple times but didn't. Something doesn't smell right here.
