They just said he was late because he didn't get onto an oversold flight. Bad communication with the player. Saying it's partly Sabres' fault. Don't really think it should be blown out of proportion. Not like it was laziness or anything.

I interpreted it the opposite way, that Zadorov is catching flak now and being suspended for something, yet Myers never got punished. *shrug*

Pretty sure Myers caught a lot of crap here for his constant out of shape training camps

Probably something along this line. As much as I'd like to say the kid needs to get his poop together, if he was on an overbooked flight somewhere, that's not really in his control. It's happened to me before. There's not really much you can do about it until you get to the airport and find out that's the case.

The KHL refused to release him for another year of juniors. He and his agent may have used that to their advantage. But ultimately, it was beyond their control.

This is the kind of post that can throw this board into a frenzy.

When Myers came back, he was already a 3 (4?) year vet in the league. More is expected of him. This is Zad's first season, rookies rarely grasp everything that is expected of them in all situations before and during their first year.

I love Myers and I love Zadorov. Zadorov should start to learn exactly where he needs to be physically for next season.. just like Grigorenko. To see if he delivers is a whole other matter. But I like both players, in case you were wondering my biases.

Correct. Was it Elliott? who was in Turks and Caicos and was able to get back in time for the All star game.

Granted different events but it is doable by not waiting until the last second.

I don't get it either. And honestly, I generally don't fly back from places when I go on vacation until the day before I have to be at work. If something happens, it could potentially be a problem, but it's only happened to me once and I've flown somewhere pretty much every year since I was 10. So I generally just take my chances. I'm lucky enough now that my job is pretty flexible about this type of stuff.

Just saying "hello" is the kind of post that can throw this board into a frenzy.
