DAMN 3rd periods!.......i really do't understand why this team falls apart in the 3rd every game like clock work......i know they aren't good, but the futility they show in the 3rd every game has to be due to something....conditioning, coaching....something
- aschwach
When Lindy was here it was always the 2nd period. They'd come out completely flat and then have to try and battle back in the 3rd. |

I believe Mark "Norris" Giordano was the guy that left Stewart wide open in front of the net on the Sabres goal. - sbroads24
He's got 40 pts in 47 games. He can make an outlet pass consistently too so we'll cut him some slack. |

It was funny hearing New yorkers female dog about it today . Thinking the mayor overreacted . They have no clue how good idea it was to be prepared. - Maximum Signal
It was certainly inconvenient, but what are ya gonna do?
They made the right choice IMO

He's also been wildly inconsistent over his career and is 7 years older than Myers. |

Maybe. But than the organization needs to define to him what they want him to be. And in my opinion, that would be more offensively focused.
It seems that they are trying to get him to become more of a defensive player because of his size, but it is OK to let him do what he does best and find someone else to be that shut down guy. - rmiethaner
As painful as it's been...
I actually like that they've been ramming defense diwn his throat
After all, he is a defenseman
Once Ristolainen is ready to be a top pair guy, he takes over the tougher defensive responsibilities & Myers should then find himself in situations when he can use his offensive talent more often |

The problem here in Buffalo is that everyone thinks that because they live here and it's not the first time they've seen snow, they can travel in anything. Then they get stuck and end up causing huge issues for the guys trying to keep the roads clean.
I thought Poloncarz was going to have a stroke he was so irritated that people didn't seem to understand that travel bans meant you weren't supposed to travel. |

I thought that might happen too, but Rochester's been pretty scary at times this year, and not in a good way. I think you may see a marginal improvement just because guys will be excited to be getting a chance and will be trying to make a lasting impression on Nolan/Murray for next year. - HonkFortheGoose
If that would happen, do you think that there would be a chance that some other teams would notice and try to trade for some of the prospects?
I think I read on here some time ago that Murray was not impressed with Grigerenko or Armia. So if they came up and impressed, would they be possibilities to trade for better draft picks or prospects?
I am hesitant to trade any of Buffalo's prospects as I would not want to get burned. |

At some point, some of these guys are going to need to be packaged together for a guy that's got a higher skill set, IMO. There's too many guys and not enough contracts to be given out. NHL teams are restricted to 50 guys under contract. That's guys that could be in the AHL on deals that allow them to play in the NHL, the actual NHL roster, and anyone that may be in Jr or still overseas in Europe.
Since they decided to tear this down and rebuild, the amount of picks they've made or will make this draft is pretty crazy. Something is going to have to give somewhere. I think that's part of why Murray was willing to give LA the two 2nds back that they had given us in the Regehr trade. He knew that eventually it would end up too many guys and not enough space for them all. |

i have a feeling thy wont move any prospects this year....unless something really major is coming back....in a few years when they are ready to compete or they have to many bodies for both teams is when they may move some youngsters |

He can't ever be a top pairing defenseman. He's not perfect!! Only perfect guys can be top pairing defensemen. They never make mistakes. - HonkFortheGoose
You're so condescending
Do u really think he's a "shutdown" guy?
That's clearly NOT his skillset
Pretending it is just isn't accurate
Defensemen are like Cornerbacks... They get kudged on how often they are beat
And Myers still gets beat WAY more than your guys like Doughty, Weber, and even Seabrook...
Heck, I got SO MUCH CRAP for saying I'd rather have us draft Ekblad & trade Myers for a top forward
How's my idea look now?
And I'm not saying I HATE Myers,
But I do think some ppl here massively overrate him |

Look, you're the guy that kept saying we should trade Girgensons less than 1 year after we drafted him...
My opinion of your opinions will forever be tainted because of that.
BTW, you might want to not tell someone that they're condescending, when your post is very condescending.

Agreed. We're going to have to turn some of these picks & prospects in to a player we can ice next year. Quite a few guys heading out at the deadline or over the summer. Not many of them i want to see re signed and i dont have enough confidence in rochester to send us 7 or 8 of their "best" players next fall. |

Ya, IMO It's the right move by gov't to be overcautious in these situations, even if it means inconvieniencing us |
