What is it that we are doing? You know we are rebuilding not retooling right? If we already didn't have Gionta than I'd consider adding Richards but only in a trade where I get the Kings to pick up some of his contract.

That last part is also debatable. I think a lot more things need to fall into place before buffalo can start thinking playoffs, let alone cup. Tampa has had stamkos for 4 (?) Seasons now, and theyre just getting it together, after a bunch of other successful drafts. Mcdavid is just the tip of a very arduous iceberg for buffalo. Like i said, middle of a rebuild. Dont see him being happy there

Not really, things just need to not go terribly wrong.

Our prospect system is #1 in the NHL. With quality pieces already in place. Unless we turn into bust central, we will absolutely be good sooner than later

Idk if too many of them are gonna compete for a playoff spot, but Florida, Calgary & Nashville might be decent fits
Or if teams like Buffalo, Arizona or Edmonton like his leadership, he could fit in there as well
