i put enough leftovers in my fridge to get me through tomorrow's dinner for sure.

the people at yummy yummy were very good to me with the soup and all. not even a pint, they were like "this guy needs a quart"

Not at a Chinese Restaurant... None that I know have them.

Merely commenting on how Chinese food is basically cheap... and have very large portions... and it is a low cost meal.

That said, other cuisines I frequent are nowhere near as 'reasonable'... and believe me, we pay a hefty bill at most of the places we dine at... If we do have a Coupon though we do indeed take advantage of it without any shame... and IF we are there to eat and it is while they still have an Early Bird in effect, we take advantage of that -- same with happy Hours -- BUT we don't adjust our meals to coincide with Early Birds.

IF YOUR ARE INFERRING THAT WE EAT AT 4:00 WITH ALL THE WHITE HAIRED PEOPLE WHO TAKE OUT THEIR DENTURES AND WIPE THEM OFF BETWEEN COURSES... I AM GREATLY INSULTED, SIR!!!

They bartenders at PJ Whelihans used to put little notes on the computer to remind them who's who, as well as to tell the other bartenders working... things like 'loner at end w/Flyers Cap'... I could see people sitting at the bar alone getting notes like, 'drunk loser/striking out'... and bad tippers getting, 'Cheap bastard with combover'.

I always check my receipt for mine.

The story I got... and remember... was that Whelehans used to have a Liquor/Beer/Wine Store on Haddon Ave just outside of Haddonfield and they opened up a little bar on one half that become so popular that they eventually decided to close down the store and expand the bar... then they opened up another and then another etc. and then the Pour House, Chop House, Trendo, etal.


Now Canals on the other hand was almost the exact opposite... Had a longstanding local bar down the road from my buddy in Pennsauken that had a little liquor store in it... They sold their products at a very reasonable price... they decided to expand the shop and then just closed down the bar to make way for it... Then they expanded to other locations and just sold the booze.

Both became giants and are all over the place... My guess in the PA bar may have been a partner with the Haddonfield Road one or something. I used to buy at the liquor store and was there when they opened the bar and expanded it. The Pour House has the best Burgers I've ever eaten and a tremendous draft beef selection.
