On the stairs or up higher? What direction is your deck facing?

It's a low deck, about 2-3 ft off the ground. I'd be putting one on each stair post, then probably another 2-3 on some of the other posts (it's a small deck).

We have an outdoor light but it's very bright and just seems obnoxious.

The reason I asked is you might run into a situation where they receive a different amount of exposure therefore produce a different amount of Lumens. Some will be bright and others way not produce much at all.

Especially on a low deck with limited sun light. If your deck has a south-east(morning/noon) or north-west(midafternoon/evening) exposure you will get more solar onto the units.
