Mason has looked locked in during the last two shootouts, good to see him come in cold and play as well as he did
- Jsaquella

He saidhe looked at what Fleury does for shootouts, and I notice he's been giving some new looks... charge out hard and then back in..etc.. varies it up and it's working..

Nice to get a win.

Even nicer when the rest of the pack wins, too. Still 7th-overall

Great win last night (even tho it was the coyotes). After the 2nd goal they scored, i thought this was going to be a very long game, but they persevered and looked like the comeback kids they were last season. Sticking to their plan despite losing and executing and grinding it out. Mike Smith played unreal. I think the score should have been much higher in our favor. And it was good to see that we got more than 40 shots on net. I thought it was for sure ending with a loss heading into the shootout with how well Smith was playing. Glad they proved me wrong. Hopefully they can win a few more in a row and get a streak going.

He was obviously badly hurt in the last game before the ASG.... Joking aside, I'm glad he's fine. I don't think suspensions should be levied on the basis of how bad a player gets hurt.

I wasn't referring to it as Rinaldo should have less games, I personally wanted him to get more games suspended. That was just flat out wrong and dirty. Just makes me wonder if he made it seem more worse an injury (not during the game) to skip ASG

I saw the same thing from straka. His skating really stood out whereas when I watched the phantoms Saturday night I didn't notice it. I don't know his viability as a two way guy but if he skates that hard on a night in and night out basis that is a big plus for him.

Same here.. On his first shift, I noticed he was working hard and beating guys out for he puck, one way or another. I liked what I saw from him so far.

If Mason was healthy, why didn't he start the game?
How did White look? Didn't see the game last night. 2 straight shootout wins? Insanity!

He was healthy injury wise, but was still recovering from being sick over the weekend i believe. Think berube didn't want to use him originally, but knew he had to get a spark going to turn the game around with using Mase

- stayinthefnnet

i like wins but i like meaningful wins more. with each win this year i fear that the org-in-ize-ation will start to believe they can make the playoffs this year, the GM will rip off his hextall mask to reveal ol' homer underneath and start making bad trades to get us over the hump.......or the stand pat and do nothing until all the other teams grab up the players they need off the WW.......wins this year are like bob taylor used to say about playing to a tie on home ice......

Read the blog.

Coming off a right knee injury suffered on Jan. 10 against Boston and dealing with the remnants of the flu, Mason had not had a regular practice day in weeks

Make no mistake about it, the goal of the coaching staff and the players, is to try and win and make the playoffs. That is their mindset, as it should be.

Hadn't put in an actual practice with teammates in weeks and was still battling the remnants of the flu. Mason probably shouldn't have even been backing up since Zepp is/was still around (no official roster move made yet) but said he felt well enough to participate in the morning skate and sit on the bench as the backup.

When the Flyers fell in a quick 2-0 hole and Emery struggling early, Berube felt he had no choice but to make the goalie switch. Somehow, Mason played very well despite -- by his own admission -- not feeling sharp until overtime.

I can't wait until Emery is gone. Guy frustrates the hell out of me. Also had a little laugh at G's penalty shot. Looked like someone playing NHL 15 using the 94 controls.

Good win for the fly guys. I know it's against a weaker opponent but to bounce back from 2-0 has to feel good.

Don't get me started on the Pens missing the ASG.. 3 stars were out for 'injuries"?? I think they just couldn't be bothered to go. I'm sure G could have used some down time to heal some nagging wounds but he was there!
