Its not needed. Biggest thing is dumping some of these contracts. Then they'll be on the right track.

I think if they use some creativity they might be able to move some of them. It might involve taking back unwanted players, paying parts of salaries and committing to a rebuild through next season.

People aren't rooting against them. Saying you're happy after a loss is just a defense mechanism for dealing with the losing. No one is happy after a loss.
- PhillySportsGuy

I think there are quite a few fans who are happy to see the Flyers lose to get a better draft position.

Need a little bit of luck on your side, too. Wish I could post the transcription of Jay Greenberg's 90-min interview with Simon Nolet about scouting and Flyers drafts/signings in his 25 years back in the organization.

Lots of words of wisdom from Nolet. Portions of the interview will appear in Jay's 50th Anniversary history of the Flyers to be published in 2017.

This will also be great as it will coincide with the Flyers Stanley Cup victory in 2017.

Yes, I saw this too and I'm not amused by an ad made to look like actual maintenance activity on my computer.

That's weak.

Bummer. Great career. Love the guy.

Maybe tomorrow you'll need to revise your trivia question.

Oh, I don't even know what it is. When I get bounced there I get a "page unavailable" message.

At this point I really don't think they will make playoffs so.... IF they could get a first for both Coburn and Streit I would do it.
Possibly try to pool them into moving up in this draft, or use as trade chips to acquire something of need...or just have 3 first round picks.

Wasn't he on leave for a death in the family? Did he ever come back from that?

Depends on if he wants to return. He was waived to mutually terminate the contract. He stated he wouldn't be playing again this season after his father's death.

He did not. I believe he said he wasn't going to, which is why they waived him. Both parties have agreed to terminate the contract.

Wow, tough way to end the season. Particularly when he had such a hard time getting any team to take him on. Think he retires?

[quote=stayinthefnnet]i wish we could just round them up and ship them all off to the echl.

The Nailers already have Chaz Johnson who only hits from behind and when opposing players are defenseless. There are too many guys like that in the ECHL as well. The pay grade is not high enough in the ECHL to have more high risk goons its a developmental league, not like the old EHL or IHL where players could age and play a long time and stay in the community. Sam Ftorek excluded (hes in his 40's)

ECHL players told me that nobody stands anyone up anymore as they would have to fight then. That is unless the playern that was stood up was running people from behind.

There is a fight league in Quebec for those kind of guys

At this point, it seems pretty likely. I don't know if his heart is in it after what he went through with his dad.

This trade may have been proposed here a while back, but what would you guys think about Read to the Jets for a 2nd and the rights to Burmistrov if the Flyers are 10 points out of a playoff spot a month from now?

Yeah.. I really don't know what JR is thinking calling out mason.. too many shots to the head.

You're probably spot on.

JR was a good Flyer though. He was a battler.
