Ha! Not a ton there, huh?
I'd be fine with the fourth; I wouldn't hold a player like Timonen for ransom. Every game he plays -- if he even does -- could be his last - AllInForFlyers
Agreed. Timonen is one player that you do whatever possible to accomodate his wishes. |

and look for that murder rate to continue in the nhl where he will quickly climb to the top of every positive stat category known to man and lead the sharks to the their first stanley cup. - hammarby31
Only if they can pair him with a perennial Art Ross candidate like Jason Akeson. |

Maybe Jack Dougherty and a 3rd? - MBFlyerfan
Absolutely, that would be fine by me -- this is his last season. He can't help the Flyers make the playoffs. Anything you get is a bonus, considering where he was a month ago.

If we got 2 first round selections and another first and third round pick from Nashville for a one legged Forsberg, who knows?
Though, I wouldn't quibble too much over the return if Timo expressed his desire to take a last shot at a ring. - 77rams
It would be sad if they went all in at the TDL and didn't make it out of the first round again. |

Or a player like Kamenev. A big winger with some skill.
Its all a bonus.

Obvious stuff, yes, but top 3 things I'm hoping to see over the last half of the season:
1. Del Zotto play well enough to earn an extension
2. Baby Schenn truly look like either a 1LW or 2LW on most nights
3. Sean Couturier make it to 20 goals and 45 points
Again: Yes, those are obvious. The first one is more a personal desire to see a nice comeback story, but the second two are imperative for this team to move forward
I didn't mention anything about Giroux, Voracek and Mason, because they're gonna do what they do. And for the rest of the roster, obviously they need to finish to the best of their abilities, considering roster positions need to be at stake if/when you miss the playoffs |

All I know that is if Timo gets traded, that team automatically becomes the team I root for in the playoffs.

I doubt they go after Timonen anyway. Their defense is already really strong. I think they'd much rather go after a forward who is under team control for at least 2-3 years. |

He doesn't fit your criteria, but I get the feeling Jagr's gonna end up there. |

The Preds deal from a position of weakness because they value picks/prospects way more than other teams due to their financial restraints.
Jagr will cost a 1st rounder. Thats a lot to give for a rental. |

Pressure's on tho... all that cash to Weber, I'm sure they need some of that PO gate revenue asap. |

I agree that they need to start winning playoff series.
I think very highly of Laviolette, but yeah, he is the kind of coach that you love at first, when things are going well. But shelf life is real, so how long will you have him?
How much longer for David Poile, even? He's no spring chicken, either.
At some point, since you paid Weber an absolute ton of money, you have to do whatever it takes to put yourself in position to win one.
The West is effing tough -- there are some damn good teams out there, from top to bottom.
But they're good, too. But if it's me, I don't trust going to war with Mike Ribeiro as somebody I have to have going good in order to move on.
That's just me. I couldn't roll into the playoffs like that

They're already a great team. I don't think they're missing that big piece. I think they can just add to the depth of the team and make themselves better.
Always seems like the small, subtle moves end up being the best ones.

I find it funny that the Rangers, Pens and Islanders won't have a first round pick in this year's draft |

Kimmo's said he wants to retire with his skates on, methinks this is about pride. My heart will experience a Grinch-esque swelling if I see Kimmo take the ice again, he's the (frank)ing man. - BulliesPhan87
This.
And I wouldn't think he's looking for a trade, either. I get the impression that he is a Flyer, wants to continue to be a Flyer, and retire a Flyer. |
