Man I hope so. I feel blind without capgeek.
Although I'm not sure if the league wants the public to have that level of cap info. I really think there is something fishy about capgeek just abruptly ending - MJL
yeah, definitely. Especially with the "no interest in selling, it's just going away forever" part, says to me either a buyer was already arranged, or somebody put the kibosh on it. |

Agreed on the first two and yes on the third.
Not saying they should trade Simmonds or Read, but I close no doors. If somebody comes in and blows my doors off, I'm open to trading anyone. - Jsaquella
If Simmonds is traded then I am 3 for 3 for buying a Jersey then having the player traded not too long after. (Carter, JVR, Simmonds as 3rd) |

Let's fire up a kickstarter to get you Vinny, RJ and Amac jerseys
I had a good run, until Richards got traded. The Briere got nuked, and after the lockout I was hesitant to spend the cash on the NHL. My dad kept buying me the shirtseys, but I didn't get a new jersey until this weekend, when I got a Giroux third for my birthday
But I am not advocating for a Simmonds trade. I love the guy. But he definitely has value if they explore it |

Wouldn't surprise me. But Any league with a cap should have some tools available to fans who want to better follow the sport. |

Anything can happen at the trade deadline. Looking back at recent trade deadlines, and the deals that are made. Not many 1st round picks are traded. Flyers getting a first round pick for any players they may be looking to move, is unlikely. Not impossible, but history suggests it is unlikely. - MJL
I still cannot believe Paul Gaustad fetched a first. |

I guess I'm in the minority of not wanting to trade a bunch of players from this playoff-less team.
I'd only really try to move Grossmann and not for any bodies coming back - just picks. VLC and Umberger aren't getting traded, nor is MacDonald. B. Schenn and Couturier I'd hold onto. |

It makes it hard to follow your team closely, not having that kind of information. Maybe they feel it's something we won't walk away from the game because of, though.
Hockeybuzz has a real opportunity to draw some clicks, if they'd upgrade the cap central section. Of course, given it's listed players as being on LITR (of cola) for over six years, I wouldn't hold my breath. |

Sometimes people just don't want to hand over something successful they've built from scratch. I knew a lady with a very successful clothing store and she was closing down. I asked if she wanted to sell it and she said she'd never sell it because she built it up from nothing and didn't want to just hand it over to someone. She just let it close. Could have sold it for a ton too. |

Maybe. I tend to dwell in the realm of suspicion, conspiracy, and intrigue though, so I'm thinking Uncle Gary slipped a little something something in Mr. Geek's pre-bed glass of milk. |

Yep.
Question...what do 5 of the top 6 scorers of all time have in common?
They were all traded before they were 30 years old (with the exception of Messier who was 30).

Trades used to happen in this sport because the GMs were guys who just didn't give a (frank) sometimes -- if they thought you were soft, you were gone. If they thought you wanted too much money, you were gone. If they thought you weren't a team guy, you were gone.
Then they'd get around to making actual hockey trades

I'm in that minority with you. I would not trade Streit or Coburn unless I was made an offer I couldn't refuse. Not sure what that is, a first round pick would be close, and make me think about it.
I think a lot of Flyers fans are going to be disappointed when the deadline passes. I don't think the Flyers have many players that there will be a market for at the deadline. Not because they're not good players, but because of the contracts they have and term they have left.
I think the Flyers could make a deal or two, that brings back some draft picks or prospects. I doubt that they can acquire a first round pick with any of those possibilities.
I also think there is a possibility of a bigger more involved actual hockey deal ,so to speak, happening that involves more secure players on the Flyers roster.
I could be wrong, but that's my gut feeling about it. |

Wouldn't trade Streit, wouldn't move Coburn for anything less than a first
They're going to find a way to get into the second round of the draft. I'm honestly not worried about it -- Schultz gets you a second from the right team
Edit: The reason I wouldn't trade Streit is that this team has every possibility of being in the playoffs next season. Yeah, they have flaws. But they can strengthen this roster |

I'd be surprised if Schultz could get them a 2nd round pick. I'd figure more like a 3rd or 4th round pick. Or a minor prospect. |

I think it truly depends on the kinds of injuries you see; Schultz -- to my surprise -- has played well enough where you might get something in the 55-60, 65 range
