Hard to believe JVR has only 12 more points than Schenn at this point. - feelingkettle
It's weird up there, though -- Bozak's a decent player, but he probably shouldn't be playing with first-line talent, and Nazem Kadri shows flashes but he's inconsistent, too
Truthfully, those boys need to ante up for a Top 6 center -- yeah, it's costly, but you just don't know what you have up there until you start slotting centers where they need to be

Also, that first line in Toronto is the worst top line in the league defensively. There was an article with fancy stats and it wasn't even close. |

loud noises. i have no interest in fancy stats personally. i don't object to them being used in order to evaluate players or teams in an attempt to gain and edge and win. whatever they need to do. i just like to watch. - hammarby31

They are brutal; just about can't play JVR and Kessel together with Kadri.
Not much better with Bozak but he usually wins a decent amount of draws, which mitigates some of the disaster
I always kinda wondered what Martin Hanzal would look like between them |

Thanks Bill for the updates. I think Kimmo should retire. He is, and was a great player, but his health is more important. However, I am sure the Flyers are in a rush to get him back into the line up....as usual...rush, rush, rush. Blood thinners, and clots are no joke. Cuts bleed quickly, and take a long time to heal. Why take the chance, or risk?
Salute to JJ, and Gags. I wish both families well.
Bill, do you think that Alt will ever make the jump to the NHL? It seems like he has been in development for a long time. The Canes gave up on him, should the Flyers? He has size, and strength, but what else does he bring to the table? In addition, do you think that injuries have hampered his development?
Peace. |

January is almost over, and Timonen has not been in the Flyers lineup all season. We've been waiting for an official update on what's going to happen, since he went back to the Doctor's in the last week or so. Obviously the Flyers are not rushing anything with Timonen. |

Honestly I can't believe people are okay with moving Giroux or Voracek.
1 legit superstar in his early prime.
Another player on the cusp of being a superstar leading the league in point entering his prime. - opeth_pa
I don't think anyone on here wants to trade those two , but wouldn't you like to know what each is worth? I would imagine a lot of GM'S do some sort of due diligence and see not only what their own players could fetch, but the values of lots of players in the league. |

I agree, he's not been scoring goals on the PP, but he does some other important things on the PP. He's good as getting loose pucks off of faceoffs, and on puck retrievals, and he's made some nice passes on the PP. The Flyers top PP unit is one of the best in the League, why change it? Who should replace Schenn on the top unit?

Rather see Vinny in the slot..one thing he does good still is a quick release..but we don't have a lot of options sadly |

If you watch the Flyers 2nd PP unit, notice where Lecavalier is positioned. He is in the same area of the ice that Voracek is in, on the first unit. Lecavalier, his entire career, as a LH shot has heavily favored the right side of the ice. On the Flyers top PP unit, it's funneled through Giroux on the left side of the ice. The Flyers tried Lecavalier in that slot spot, and he wasn't comfortable there, because of his preference for the right side of the ice. |

I see G on the left, so if he's passing to the slot where Vinny would be its the same opposite side one timer..if he can't adjust to be 15 feet closer to the pass well than he can retire. |

It's not the same, the angle and the look at the net is completely different. As a LH shot on the right side of the ice, he has more net to shoot at. In the slot closer to the left side of the ice, he has less net to shoot at. |

no crap but I'm saying he could adjust..some busche house league player couldn't adjust..he a former #1 pick who can put the puck in the net..can't skate well anymore but can shoot..im sure he'd do better than schenn...its painful to watch him shoot the puck high and wide or in the bread basket every time he gets fed. |

They tried it earlier in the season, Lecavalier was not comfortable there. The Flyers PP is one of the best in the League, top 5. Of all the teams problems, the PP is not one of them. |

Alex Ovechkin with two goals so far tonight and now holds the league lead in goals scored. The guy is the best in the league in terms of scoring not just year but within his entire body of work. You can never doubt him. I think the Caps have the balance to go deep into the playoffs. |

Brayden Schenn is a young developing player. You want him to be in the offensive situations that he's in now. He might not be racking up the points but no need to fix what isn't broken. |

In support of Brayden Schenn, I like him with Voracek and Giroux at even strengthen a lot. Much more then Raffl because of the small plays he's able to make under pressure. He's gritty and can create pace for Voracek and Giroux. He definitely doesn't look out of place. |
