Risto will be fine next season here.
I do worry about the forwards. It's possible Armia, Grigo, Reinhart and McEichel are all here to start - sbroads24
Right? What does that forward group look like then?
Moulson-Girgensons-Ennis
Hodgson-McDavid-Gionta
Grigorenko-Reinhart-Armia
Foligno-Flynn-Deslauriers
McCormick/Kaleta
Idk? Something like that? |

Brutal turnover for sure, but I don't know how 2/3 guys got behind Myers still
Don't wanna nitpick, just saying it wasn't a good game for him
I hate that whenever I say any thing that's not positive, ppl take it ad me thinking he sucks & I want him traded
That's not true
He has been better this year. But his consistency still needs work IMO - jdfitz77
I just want someone to feed him the puck when he takes off up the wing 10 times a game. There are so many plays missed each game by bad passing it's insane |

0% chance that happens - Herzeleid
You sound as confident as Kevin Lowe was when the Oilers rebuild set out Just a word of caution from an Oilers fan; don't get your hopes up too high. The bright side of your rebuild is that your management started with high-end D prospects as opposed to forwards so your young players should therefore peak around the same time.
Had the Oilers simply grabbed a Dman with their 2009 pick (Kulikov, perhaps), no one could fault them for going the route they did. However, that's not the case. |

IMO they get another center via trade or FA.
Stop gap, or a guy that can play wing and center so he can slide back when Reinhart or McDavid are ready
Someone like Oshie or Sharp come to mind
Moulson/Sharp/McDavid
Foligno/Girgensons/Armia
Reinhart/Grigorenko/Ennis
Delauriers/Schaller/Flynn
I actually forgot Hodgson |

Lets be real though, that 3rd goal was all Hodgson. He turned it over in the neutral zone as Myers hopped on the ice.
This team is a mess, as Murray said today, the players will look better when the team around them is better. - sbroads24
Gotta be a great feeling- jump over the boards and sprint to the net, lay out horizontal to break up a play you had nothing to do with, and watch the red light come on cuz you were a stride late. I hope hodgson has three day old fish in his skates when they get to vancouver. |

If the Sabres were to finish last and lose the lottery for the #1 pick, is it a definite that they take Eichel at #2? If not who else might they take? |

U also forgot Gionta
I'm sure if there's a guy out there Murray likes he'll see what it would cost...
But what do we have right now that teams would want?
I'm guessing guys like Girgensons & Ennis are not available unless they're incl in a package for a true superstar
Gionta & Moulson are prob not available BC we just signed them
Hodgson has NO trade value right now
So to make any deal for a guy like Sharp, Hall, etc... We'd prob be giving up multiple prospects
But how many of our prospects really have enough value, AND are ready to joint the Hawks or Oilers lineup?
Grigorenko & Armia are the two closest, but they've only been decent this year... I doubt they're enough to get back the type of player we're talking about here
I think that type of move will have to wait one more season
Then Hodgson's value should be up, and prospects will have had a chance to show more of what they can do to make them more enticing, or even make Murray think other roster players can be dealt |

Absolutely no doubt
The kid missed time for the World JRs, and is still leading the NCAA in scoring
That just doesn't happen
Also, he's playing against a lot of 21 & 22 yr olds in college.
Only way would be if they REALLY like Strome, Hannifin, Marner or Crouse... And they get a BUNDLE to trade down
I just don't see that happening though
If it were us trying to move from #3 to #2, I bet we'd also have to incl Reinhart... That's just too steep
These guys that are ranked 3-6 would be considered for the top pick most years
Eichel is still barely behind McDavid, and pretty far above the rest |

They just traded for Goc
Ott can move up
They can recall Paajarvi and/or Rattie
I think they'll still be fine
It's not like they lost Backes & Tarasenko |

But Myers had a really rough game tonight
- jdfitz77
I noticed this as well.
I don't know why people refuse to see that.
I know stats don't tell the whole story but even with Myers goal he was a -1 and Weber was a +1.
Myers was not good and as much as I detest cliche's , "it is what it is" with him.
Off to shovel. |

Schedule over the next week includes VAN, MTL, STL, DAL, and NYI.
Maybe, MAYBE, we jump up and bite MTL or surprise DAL, but this is grim |
