I hate to keep banging on this drum, but some resemblance of a competent gameplan might actually help. They didn't even try to make it difficult on Edmonton exiting their own zone last night, and it definitely was intentional.

Murray, yesterday, mentioned there is a drop off after about the first 20 players. For my money, I'm willing to bet Murray tries taking those last 2 firsts and jumping into Tier 3. Maybe for Werenski or Kylington. Either would be fantastic, although Werenski has the better size.

If they don't get a win soon, I think Gorges is going to go off the deep end. This guy is really upset about the way things are going right now.

For everyone that keeps saying that he's not very good, I love that type of passion and think he'll be good to keep around for when things start going well.

They played one of the teams most prone to mistakes, and they barely pressured them at all. It wasn't intentional, just flat out incompetent. I don't know whose idea it was, Nolan's, Trottier's or somebody else, but it was awful.

They're playing for their careers. If they're on a contract and want to play for a better team, they need to show their value. Same with free agents. If they play like poop, they get paid like poop. They have to try for the sake of their present and future careers.

I had to laugh at the usual suspects after the Murray interview, interpreting what he said in a completely different way than what was actually said.

Murray said that the team has no confidence but he hates using that word. Jeremy White takes it as "Confidence isn't a real thing! Murray said it himself"

Then he says that the Sabres would entertain being a "Buyer" but that usually happens at the draft, WGR puts up a post saying "Murray willing to buy at deadline"

What would it take to get the 2nd overall pick too ? Not that I want to be greedy. But as bad as this team is , Why not ?
