Face down in Pat's pizza and/or a plate of tacos with some 20 mil lippies spilled on the table is my ideal death. |

Meh. The kid has his lowest value he'll ever have. No use in trading him for scraps. Might as well give him another year to improve, then he can at least be sold as a 50 point one dimensional center on a bad team with potential to hit 60. That sounds like a first and a mid prospect to me. |

heheh, that's what I thought too. Not that he's fishing for questions, but it's inevitable that a post like that won't cause people to ask. |

I found out this morning but was waivering if I should post it or not, they still have an interest in getting Richards. I mentioned before they wouldn't put in a waiver for him but still like him. I know Murray kind of said the same thing in a round about way yesterday in his interview. I think he wants to clear more money before a real decision about Richards is made but they do like him.
Like I mentioned countless times before, it's all the media when it comes to moving Myers but he will for the right player and I don't think he found that as of now and might not. |

Seems it shouldn't cost to much in a trade. Seeing they don't want a contract back. They need to clear some space. We will need space 3yrs from now. Or sooner. Some of these kids might be needing a larger than a league min raise after the ELC expires. Depends on how they develop I guess. |

I have no interest in Richards but that's just me.
Many a GM will be calling in for Myers the closer it gets to deadline day.
I'd be shocked if Myers was still a Sabre after this years trade deadline but then again I have seen crazier things happen.
In my opinion he is simply not needed for this rebuild, and again that's just me. |

You would think the Kings would just move him for anything so the contract is gone but I guess not. I still think Richards is a good player and would be agood addition and Murray does like him but maybe not enough to cripple the future of the Sabres. |

Exactly.
I don't want them to spend fool heartily now when it may cost a player we can't afford because of it that we want to keep a few short years down the road.
Spending to the cap floor is one thing.
Spending foolishly is another. |

Thing is , he is the best we have right now and his contract isn't that bad. 3yrs from now we could be looking for the exact type of player. We have him now. If he does a 180 and turns into the #1 We will be kicking ourselves in the ass for not being patient. |

Myers is a" gem" if you ask me, he has size, skill and speed that's hard to come by IMO. I read about how everyone on other blogs think he's a 3rd or 4th pairing D man but yet a lot of teams would welcome him. You can't just give up on him and give him away, it will cost if they move him and IT SHOULD. Murray hold all the cards, other GM'S can say wha they want but he will get value for what we move and he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him. |

I agree. That length of contract and his diminishing play has me and i'm sure most everyone cautious on taking that chance. |

There was to be a feature on LDN's Mitch Marner, but facial injuries suffered Sunday vs. OSH, unfortunately, put the kaibosh on that. |

What's his contract again? 5.75 for 5? This would be roughly the time when some of the young guys get their bridge deals. Who else would be due for a raise at that time? If Murray unloads one contract and we assume the ceiling stays where it is, then maybe it won't be all that problematic?
Just speculating. I wouldn't hate the addition, but I'm not all-in either. |

We have a bunch coming up this June . Nothing that deserves a whopper of a raise imo. Not this season anyways . But in the coming years as this team gets better. I'm sure it might become a problem. If Richards is traded to us and retires, The kings will be greatly penalized for cap recapture. From what I read (red). |

Agreed. If it was only for 2 or 3 years, I'd say it would be worth it. But those last 2 years could be a real drain. |
