Sure you can, you dump him like they dumped Niemi and they keep winning. His backup has better numbers than him, and it doesn't really matter who's in that net as long as they're not horrible. - stashu
Raanta has been good for them. Just goes to show they have excellent goaltenders in the system.
p.s. The Ducks need to resolve the Bryzgolov situation. he's godawful. Andersen can't play every game, but they need to waive him and bring up Gibson or trade for a suitable back up.

Is it excellent goaltenders in their system, or an excellent team system that keeps goaltenders looking good (a la Detroit/Osgood)?
Hence why I think they can just keep that cycle going, and what I've wanted Buffalo doing for years now. Replace a highly paid "star" goaltender with one who is very competent and have an actually good team around that goalie.

That's a great possibility. They are a stacked team, and I do not believe Crawford is anything special. It could very well be the system, but they definitely have competent goaltenders at least.
i would do something like Nikita Zadorov , 2nd for Toffoli, Voynov( very high risk if he goes to Prison)
but the kings would say no me thinks - gerbe75pts
Not condoning/disapproving of your trade per se, but I imagine they could put in a stipulation on Voynov (like the crazy conditions in the Callahan/St. Louis trade)

Exactly. For years with Miller it didn't work, so a lesser paid but very competent goaltender behind a better roster has been my hope. You gain some cap space with that method as well.
It's not always the best (Quick/Thomas as recent examples), but when you try something for as long as Buffalo did with no results, a change is needed.

did you see him crying last night ?
he does this every game now almost - gerbe75pts
This is where we want it both ways. I see people female dogging every day about how nobody cares. This guy wears his heart on his sleeve and answers every question and we rag on him for it. He could easily slip out the door after every game like so many others do.

isn't the saying: "if you keep doing the same thing expecting different results, it's insanity?"

I want no part in Eriksson...
He is another concussion away from Marc Savard territory...
One of those other first round picks will be dealt IMO for a proven top 6 vet.
Move Coho's contract take on Richards contract for a next to nothing deal and move for another vet.
Once Reinhart and McEichel show they can carry the load this team has some real forward depth and no I'm not talking 4th line depth real top 6 depth. - Stripes77
didnt want to bring that up but when a player has that history i stay as far away as possible. How many careers have they ruined. Kariya is my prime example
