I think Hodgson could get back to 20goals playing with say Reinhart & Foligno - jdfitz77
I think Cody is a guy where if it is going well, he is all in. If not then you are going to get what you see now. |

Agreed
I don't watch him closely to call out any effort, but I don't think there's any chance his skill is gone. On a crap team last year he was still good offensively (and I could care less if his defensive play is bad - not every player can be a great 2-way guy). - stashu
Cody Hodgson is an asset we should keep for the future. He has been terribly lost this year, because he hasn't been put in a place to succeed, and he reminds me quite a bit of Vanek (not intended as unconditional praise) - he's the kind of guy that needs to be set up, not a guy who can create on his own.
He has shown he can score, and that he is willing to work hard. He hasnt done it this year while the team itself is in a holding pattern.) If he turns things around, his contract will be a bargain.
The Sabres should give him a year to play with "the real talent" once they decide to flip the switch. If it doens't pan out, that will be the time to dump him.
Flame away. |

To say it fully and then to move on to whatever comes next, I think Cody is in a holding pattern just the same as the whole franchise is.
It's kinda hard to blame the player for putting a mediocre performance on the ice when we don't blame the franchise for doing the same. |

Agreed. Is it frustrating to see him just coasting around out there? Sure. But I think he still holds plenty of value to the team. He has skill. We've seen it. He's just not a player that's going to make things happen on his own. |

IMO, putting Cody on a wing with Reinhart or McDavid he instantly becomes a constant 20G+ guy again. And 4.5MM for a 20G+ guy does not seem that bad in the grand scheme of things.

If what Ek is saying is true, which I hold very lightly, and the Kings are looking to get a defenseman soon I could see a deal where we send a defenseman and maybe Hodgson to the Kings for a Richards/Cap dump.
Hodgson could be effective in LA where he wouldn't be relied on defensively. He would be able to play the game he wants to play. There are a lot of two-way players in that system. Having a goal scorer would not hurt them. Look at what Gaborik can do (not insinuating Cody is on that level) in the system like LA's. Put Cody on a line with Carter and Toffoli and tell me he won't score 20 the rest of the season. |

IMO the Kings are not going to take on a contract other than a pending UFA. They are in cap trouble. |

Thats about the worst idea there is. Would you want a 2.125MM contract buyout on the books for the next 8 years? |

Right?!
And even if Murray doesn't see him as a long time piece to the puzzle, at least he can regain some trade value & help us land a guy Murray does see playing a role here
A 20goal guy with years left on his contract should at least get us a very good prospect

Personally, I hate the idea of trading a defenseman anywhere. Doesn't matter who either. I think that we have very little room for error with the guys we already have and if you move one out, that removes the very tiny bit of room that exists right now. Our defensive depth pretty much falls off a cliff after you get past Pysyk, McCabe and Ruhwedel. |

That's where you sign and trade for guys, which is going to need to be done sooner or later regardless of how deep this defensive corps is or isn't. |

I must be hungry and hence why I am asking.
If you have been to Buffalo, lived in Buffalo or are currently living in Buffalo.
Where do you get your favorite Pizza pie from?
I'll give you my top 5.
TC Wheeler's on Wheeler street in Tonawanda has perhaps the best pizza to be honest. (Order a pie from here and you will never be disappointed)
Molinaro's on Sheridan drive
Then Bocce on Bailey
Just Pizza.
Casa di Pizza
Best wings around are at TC Wheelers as well.
Best subs I would give to La'Nova's.
Sorry, I am hungry. |

capgeek before it shut down. they had a program that allowed you to calculate buyouts based on when the player was bought out. |

Mix you and Fitz together and I agree. I hate that he's unmotivated, but I think the kid has a lot left. I wouldn't hate getting rid of him, but not to dump for scraps. |
