Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Dice and Ice, Ronalds Kenins Coming to Town? After their annual Dice and Ice charity event on Wednesday night, the Vancouver Canucks are working on their power-play and looking at a potential call-up to replace the injured Derek Dorsett for Friday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Not sure Kenins is 6'4, most sites show him as 6'0. Hopefully he does well.

I think Burrows has looked his best playing on a line with Horvat this season on the 4th. I would like to see

Sedin Sedin Vrbata
Matthias Bonnio Kassian
Higgins Vey Hansen
Kenins Horvat Burrows

I really don't want to see Edler Sbisa pair.......

Fixed.

He can't be any worse at center than anyone else at this point. Not just in the faceoff dot either.

Would love to see Vey on the wing in the top 6 but not sure that Kassian has the right skill set to play C.

Right off the bat we get Bonino on wing, Hansen on the left and Kassian at centre...this day is off to a smashing start

Can't wait for Richardson to return, but that looks interesting with some speed on the third line and Horvat put in a more offensive role.

You're right. He was listed at 6'4" at HockeyDB.

The Canucks just issued their press release - the Kenins call-up is official now, and they've got him at 6'0" and 209 lbs. I'll update the blog.

Thanks!

Thanks for your efforts Carol.

Man I hope we don't drop that game to Buffalo. Sabres played Calgary pretty tough last game for 2 1/2 periods before Calgary got a few bounces. Calgary has outplayed us the last few games too soooo.... Maybe the Oil can beat Buffalo up a bit for us?

A little unorthodox, But very intriguing. I'd give it a shot. Ho needs to get put on the PP to. That is pissing me off.

I guess Higgins has played centre before in his career...Frankly I like that 4th line

Swap Burrows and Matthias? Any way we put it seems like that is a heck of a slow top line

Horvat takes the draw and wins then goes to the front of the freaking net. Nobody on this team other than Mathias and burr go to the net.

The Sedin line has good possesion but aren't getting pucks to the net. We need more scoring so I'd try this...

Sedin Sedin Matthias
Vrbata Vey Hansen
Higgins Bonino Kassian
Kenins Horvat Burrows

As for something really different, I'd change the powerplay.

I'd have 22,33,17,23,8 but have Vrbata at the point and Edler in front of the net. Edler has some pretty good hands and being a defenseman, he should be good at battling in front of the net.

He doesn't exactly have a great slapshot that I'm aware of. With his size/strength an style of play he should be parked in front of the net as the 4th forward.

Matthias is a lefty, WD has preferred playing a righty with the Sedins. Vrbata also is natural RW.

This. That would be an interesting PP setup with Edler at the point and Henrik on the half wall at one side and Vrbata on the other.

Horvat on the point as a QB n dish the puck to Edler for a one-timer or down low ago to Hank
