I don't think Benning is going to wait that long. If he is going to move Kassian, it will probably be before/at the deadline. Hopefully, it will be another "hockey" trade like this last one.

I know nothing of this kid other then reports I've read. Forsling I never seen play other then wjhc. While forslings offensive production is undeniable, so is his Lack of defensive awareness. As was the case with the majority of the Swedish team. Benning def sold high. Question is, was WJHC a fluke or a coming out party for Forsling

Read an interesting article by a guy out of chi. Said J subban and Forsling are basically the same player and he'd rather have subban. I don't know about that but we shall see. He went on to say there is no defined winner for a few yrs but that he sees van winning this trade. Said he was "shocked" to see Clendening traded and that he thought he was their pp QB in the near future

Clendening apparently has the same issues and isn't a particularly fast skater either, hopefully he's not just another AHL all-star who's numbers don't translate into the NHL.

Hard to say, but I guess time will tell... There was some talk of Clendening not being that great in his own zone too. But I guess you put either in the right situation, with the right partner then maybe they will have success.

I am not sure how ready Clendening will be to jump in, maybe paired up with Hamhuis it might be a good fit.

Are Stanton and Weber as good as gone? Hope we can get some picks for them instead of losing them via waiver. Or is Corrado automatically the odd man out and on his way back to Utica?

I just want a bit more flexibility in the lineup.

We are retooling or whatever... I want to see guys get called up from Utica when there is a little injury or guys aren't playing up to snuff. And not have to worry about exposing players to waivers and losing assets without a return.

Weber, Sbisa and Stanton have all had issues with consistency. I kinda liked Diaz more than Weber, but there wasn't a big difference in their play either way. None of these guys are really deserving to be a permanent fixture on the blueline.

Hopefully Clendening can help out this season, if not can't say I like the idea of acquiring a guy with the same skill set but 4 years older.

Glad Benning is trying to address the lack of offensive Dman though, hope he can stick and knock one of Weber/Stanton/Sbisa out of the lineup but likely this means Corrado goes back to Utica.

I was advocating this sort of approach. Try to trade with a deeper team for similar players with similar upside but further along in their development... Forsling appeared dynamic at times in the wjc, not sure if he plays like that all the time but it is done now anyway. So hoping Clendening makes a good initial impression and perks up the team.
